Absolutely...this is debatable. I agree with you though that Taiwan was set up to be a separate entity...and should be. I'm sure there are many in China who would disagree strongly...but this would be like England trying to assert that the United States was actually a part of England and therefore they should have control over the counntry. I'm afraid most people don't know too much about what goes on with China and Taiwan...so maybe don't understand the importance of this debate...especially in regards to the citizens of Taiwan. when taiwan sepperated, china still had control over the island, the people on Taiwan voted against this and went their sepport way, China has never recognised the sepparation and will continue to actively pursue joining China and Taiwan back in to one country. This effectivly would give China control over the south china sea lanes, and, in time of war, would be able to shut down sea traffic through that area. I think China should leave Taiwan the way it is, at the moment all the arguments are causing an arms race, and making it very dangerous in that area. Soon some ones going to get hurt, and then what??
