Anyway, my friend lives in a semi-rural area with lots of woods closeby. She was driving to work early one morning when she sees a mother bear and 2 baby bears in tow. She was so alarmed she called her parents when she got to work to tell them of her sighting and to warn them not to let the dogs out. Her mother,too, was concerned so she called the park ranger to alert them to what she had seen. The park ranger told her that sometimes bears wander down from the western part of the state and that they find them and take them back to the woods there. He said they would go out and take a look for the bears. Well true to their word, they soon heard the helicopters overhead looking for the bears. They also called and warned their neighbors so they would keep their animals inside. The next day my friend was driving to work again when she spotted, in the same place, the bears! So this time she went in for a better look. Come to find out they were LAWN ORNAMENTS!!! She was so embarrassed. When I found this out I had my boss call her a act like the park ranger that was following up on her initial complaint. When she told him they were lawn ornaments he proceeded to tell her that she would have to help to cover the cost of the helicopter etc. Finally we told her who it was and she hasn't lived it down since.
