Oh hey, I just found this post. I live about 20 minutes away from that area myself. She really was murdered back in the 1930's. There are sites with information about it, just go to a search engine and type in "Mamie Thurman"... They had the car thing on the news once and it worked for the reporter. My aunt, cousin, and I tried it once but it didn't work for us, although my aunt said it happened to her and some friends when they were younger.
We even went searching for her once when we heard about people supposedly seeing her ghost, but there were a lot of drunks up there and we didn't want to stay around them and left. |
