Sounds like you might be getting Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. My mother has it. Get your doctor to take another look and ask him about CFS. - S.C. Gendo Ikari ShipPagan |

Paxil made my mother in law tired. even after a year. If its for antidepressant you might want to get them to change it to celexa, as I was tired the first week of it but not anymore and it works so good. |

No you wouldn't. Paxil can DEFINITELY affect you this
way. If your doctor does not know that, change doctors...
That should have been the first thing he suspected. One
word of advise though. Be careful when you go off Paxil.
Paxil is one anti depressant that's really hard to wean
off of. Do it VERY slowly... You will probably know by the
time you are able to get weaned off if this was why you were
so tired. If there is any other advise you need about anti-depressants,
I can tell you about 3 of them. Paxil, Zoloft, and Celexa... |

Thank you everybody for your advice! I've heard a lot of horror stories about weening off of Paxil and Im scared to do it. I take paxil cause I have anxiety attacks, and I will freak if they come back! I just hate to sleep my life away. Yes, I would appriciate hearing about other medications. Thanks so much everybody! |

ahhh soo it is the anxiety attacks that put you on this med. Dealing with western doctors sometimes just gets to me, but I have to, I am a nurse...LOL..One of the best ways of treating a person I had ever ran across was to treat the "whole" person, not just the symptom. But unfortunatly, our Doctors in the US are taught to treat only the symptom. I will share with you what my mother did for me:-)..I have had a heart condition for most of my like. I had severe anxiety attacks like you. They are scarey, yes I agree with you. I had always thought I was having a heart attack. So mom, came up with a solution for me. 2 bananas and a glass of milk, right in the middle of the attack. At first I thought this was crazy..LOL..But I did it, I would have done anything to make these go away. I hated them. SO the next time one came on ...off to the store for 2 bananas, instead of the ER..I got my bananas and my glas of milk and wham, while almost done eating and drinking my milk, it left, the anxiety attack was gone..LOL..I was like, what in the world..LOL..and I did not have to run to the ER on top of it..LOL..I was not totally convenced tho that it was those items that took it away. So the next few times it happened, I did the same thing, and wham, they would leave me right away. Well as you can guess, I keep bananas and milk on hand, I use rice milk now tho:-)...But the stranger thing I had found out, that in about 6 months later they stopped coming to me, I had found out that it was my way of handling these attacks, and I knew that as long as I could go out and buy bananas and milk then I would be okay. So a mental thing happened to me and They started to go away. I have not had one in several years now:-)...I still have a heart condition, but no anxiety attacks:-)...I am not saying that this is the resolution for all anxiety attacks, but it never hurts to try it out. I have helped several people with this same thing that my loving momma came up with, and low and behold, it has helped them too:-)..So I wish you all the best wishes possible...hugs and loves |

My exchange student is on Paxil because he worried about everything and couldn't sleep. He also washed his hands every five minutes. It so he couldn't leave my house to go anywhere with his friends. You know he's been on Paxil now for about 2 months and last night he told me he didn't think he needed it anymore that he was fine now. I told him he was fine because of the Paxil that it was working and he didn't agree with me. When he goes back to Macedonia he can go off it then.

Nope!! but maybe you have a sleeping disorder!!!!
Try drinking some kind of caffeine if that doesn't work then try taking speed. It's not a drug or anything it helps people stay awake sometimes!!!!!!! |
