If I was in a strange town and everyone was afraid of something, I would figure they knew something and I'd better pay attention. I personally don't believe in vampires, but maybe there is something in that area that is dangerous, who knows? Thanks for the post, bye. Garbage |

These same people also believe in werewolves. Most of the people I talked to were older and swore that they do walk amoung us. I guess we felt protected by numbers and none of us believed in such things only seeing it in the movies here in the states. I know one thing though by the time I had left I believed too. Most I taked to had the same beliefs as those in Mountians of old countries with a few differences. Illana |

Hey Illana,Aquaris here,I thought this was a great post, and quite an experience you had, even in modern times people still adhere to the old beliefs that were passed down.I have always been told that Germany is very rich in myths and folklore,I would love to visit, just to experience what you did,you must have felt like you went back in time.A really great story, thank's for sharing it... >>Aquaris<< |

Yes, I loved it over there and I did not want to come home. I lived there for over two years. I want to go back after I retire to see if it has changed any. I made a lot of good friends while there. The people were very friendly to me. I found the older generation was the nicest and most informative. The younger ones were not the most welcoming to us. At that time skinheads of the German kind(Did not like Americans) were everwhere. I loved the History, how you could have a church built in the 13th centuary right next door to a shop that sold the most up to date fashisons. It just amazed me how the old and new mingled and I loved the customs and lore. Illana |
