Amarillo - Major Tornado Event

  Author: 32008  Category:(Predictions) Created:(3/30/2001 10:34:00 PM)
This post has been Viewed (611 times)

I see a large, wedge shaped tornado entering the southwest side of the city of Amarillo, Texas. The tornado will rate an F5 on the Fujita tornado intensity scale, traveling northeasterly a distance of 37 to 42 continuous miles. A swath of destruction a mile wide will begin in the southwestern portion of the city and continue the approxiately 15 miles from the southwest edge of Amarillo to the northeast edge of the city. Advanced warning from 30 to 60 minutes will precede the tornado and play a major role in the minimal number of casualities considering the scope of the disaster. This tornado will also rank as one of the most filmed/photographed storms ever. Within hours after the tornado, throngs of volunteers from Oklahoma City will begin arriving with aid for the victims. A federal disaster declaration will be issued, along with a personal visit from President George W. Bush or V.P. Dick Cheney. Recovery and rebuilding will begin immediately, but it is possible the city will endure yet another damaging weather event in June ---in the form of a major hailstorm.

Date: 3/30/2001 11:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 19901    Oh, are you a tornado buff, too? Amarillo is due for a big one. I don't think they've had an f5 in the panhandle since the Allison tornado of 6-8-95. Kinda hope you're worng though. Your friend, StormBringer

Date: 4/7/2001 9:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 19594    hmm...f5 tornado, been there done that...it's not that fun but luckily it wasn't directly on my house. What you just predicted sounded a heck of a lot like May 3,1999 here in oklahoma. Especially if you think the timeframe will be starting around 4:30 pm cause i think(not 100% sure) thats when the one in oklahoma started....it was actually higher than the scale went...they said it was an f5 but where i live it got over f5 categorization, they just boosted up the scale so they wouldn't classify it as f6...anyways i am hoping you are wrong.
Date: 4/11/2001 3:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 18562    my sister in law's family lost their home in the OK city storm...unfortounitly if you live in this part of the country you get that kind of thing...I am in Missouri and last night I got some hail dammage on my house and car, luckly the twister seemed to miss us here, peace PatrickO
