Try Febreeze(sp?) my apartment flooded a couple yrs. ago and it helped a little bit. Try getting as much of the water up as possible, and the moisture out of the air and walls if there is drywall down there. You could also ask your insurance co. if they will cover having disaster cleaners come in ,they will take care of it all for you. Good luck. |

when that happened to us last year, our water heater exploded on us, we had to tear out the carpet to get rid of the smell....if you don't want to do that maybe getting a shampooer and going over it a few times will help. |

Bleach, we used that in our crawl space. But, if you basement is finished, obviously this will not be a good idea! Candles, try an Ocean Mist scent or Eucalyptus.....illumi |

i have no pointers, but I sympathize because that happened to us a while ago and alot of my things were ruined. we just basically had to air out the house with the doors and windows open, and replace the stinky carpet |
