The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) is one of the best teen rebellion films around. What I liked the most about the film was that the kids were not standing up for some rebellious cause but for justice and human rights. I also loved how the movie paralled with the story of Joan of Arc, thus creating a modern day martyr. The film stars Helen Slater and Christian Slater in one of his first major screen roles. The movie was filmed here in my home town of Corpus Christi, Texas! Of course, the film holds more memories for us Texans here in the south.
Funny, but there are a great deal of continuity mistakes in the film that only Corpus Christi people notice. =) Ex - when Billie Jean is being chased through the mall, she runs down a long hallway and into the parking garage. The mall which they filmed at, the Sunrise Mall (which is still there today), has no hallway leading to the parking garage. The scenes were filmed in two totally different locations days apart. =)
