Prologue

Aurulis drew his silver blade from its scabbard, there was an engraving of a holy dragon upon the blade, and the handle was embossed with several rune stones of much power. The Scabbard was red, with silver markings and runic symbols along the length of the scabbard on both sides.

The Demon Drunor of the Meclak Clan of Lord Baal's army stood with his dark sword at the ready, waiting for the Angel Aurulis to make his move. Those of Gods army were weak and pathetic. He had heard of this Warrior Angel, an outcast wanderer from heaven, he fought for the side of the light, even though he had been cast from it.

Drunor began to snarl at the small angel, for Drunor was ten feet tall, and Aurulis was only seven feet in height. His red skin bulging from large muscles, Drunor took a step closer to the Angel, to tower over him with the intention of intimidating him. But the pale skinned Aurulis merely looked up at the demon defiantly.

Drunor roared in anger at the lack of fear in his prey, and was about to swipe at him when Aurulis flicked his long blonde hair behind his head, and drove home his enchanted blade into the demons heart. Drunor looked down at the sword protruding from his chest in amazement. This puny creature had killed him. Drunor, who had taken fifteen angel souls, was defeated by Aurulis and his Runeblade "Lamau", meaning "True Heart".

As he looked from his chest to the Angel and back again, he saw the sword vanish from his chest, and reappear in the hands of the waiting Angel. Drunor fell to his knees, his life force seeping from his body by the second. He collapsed to the ground, disintegrating into ashes as his last though was of the Angel Aurulis and his powerful Runeblade.

Aurulis spread his white tentacle like wings wide to their full length. He was exiled from the realms of heaven for taking the life of a fellow angel. The angel he killed was turning to the dark, but it was not his place to deal with the creature. He maintained his immortality, but was cursed to walk the earth forever.

With the passing of this kill, Aurulis retracted his wings back into his body, it would still be centuries until man could in anyway help the sides of Light or Darkness. But Aurulis swore to watch over mankind as God would not. He would interfere directly with mankind's war against evil. Little knowing that would be the death of his soul and that of many a humans.

Aurulis walked the lively streets of the city of Del Benlor, a city which stood upon the border of the young Kingdom of Khandaras and the Eastern Realms, north of Lut Gholein. Wearing a dark hooded robe, He walked through the crowd drawing no attention what so ever. His blade Lamau sang to him, telling him the nest was near.

He ventured further north when he was pulled down an alley, ready to fight off his attacker, he realised it was another angel.

"What hast thou done!" the angels' face was set into anger.

Aurulis was calm, "I hast done naught Nerraisis."

"Oh nay." Nerraisis shook his head, "Thou hast done a little more than naught!" He shook Aurulis to emphasize his point, "Thou hast brought the Great Conflict to the Realms of Earth. No longer will the war be waged in the Spiritual Plains, but the physical!"

"I think," Aurulis grinned, "thee talks to much."

Nerraisis suddenly let go of Aurulis, and took two steps back, looking fearful, "Thou art mad."

Aurulis advanced upon Nerraisis, "Though this may be madness, be there method in it? Thee sought me out. What dost thee wish to tell me? Or wast that it?"

"Tyreal is not happy with thy actions Aurulis. Even he will not interfre so directly!"

Aurulis perked an eyebrow, "Really? Then what be this I hear about 'Soul Stones'?"

"Eh?" Nerraisis looked at Aurulis perplexed.

Aurulis' grin grew wider still, "Don't tell me Thee hast not heard of the Stones? Tyreal hast created three stones with the assitance of Izual. Trust is strong in heaven I see." Aurulis laughed.

Within moments Aurulis was off the ground and slammed against the alley wall, Narraisis' wings holding him there, "If I have no knowledge of these 'Stones' then I don't need to!"

White light quickly enveloped Nerraisis which began to fold in upon itself until Nerraisis dissapeared. Aurulis grin dissapeared also as he fell to ground, "You take comfort in that Nerraisis, old friend."

Aurulis straitened his robe, then continued on his way to clean out the next demon nest.

A demon of great power, trusted Lieutenant to the Prime Evils (As far as trust goes in Hell) stood by the Hell Forge, in the River of Flame, watching the Smith do his work. It interested this demon greatly. The way a peice of molten steel would be folded and then a dam*ed soul would be bound with it, then another fold of steel, another soul, another fold, another soul.

The demon loved to watch a soul be bound into the slowly growing blade. The way the being would fight and scream, he did not laugh nor torment the soul as it was dragged to be bound, only watched in mute fascination. At the wonder of why they would fear this. Those beings should be proud to be bound to such a weapon, to help the cause of the Prime Evils.

The Smith paused from his work to look at the Demon, "Must thee stand there watching me work? 'Tis annoying!"

"I'll do as pleases me." The Demon replied.

The Smith grunted, "Whatever. Thee art a dam* nuiscence Th'Renan."

"A, neiscence that could snap your neck." Th'Renan replied absently.

The Smith was A large demon, he had to be, he was the Cheif smithy at the Hellforge, His form was large and bulky, but he knew Th'Renan could do it. But he wouldn't enjoy it as other demons would, he'd see it as another interesting thing to learn from.Th'Renan never seemed to show demon emotions, which scared many of the lesser demons, and even some of the greater ones as well.

"I shall leave you Smith, to your work." Th'Renan left the Smith's prescence, and The Smith felt better for it.
