I'm not a christian.....so I know nothing much about christianity. However, it's up to you to believe it or not. Some things may seem ridiculous, trust me! But if you have faith in yourself, nothing can stop you. Religion is actually essential as it helps us to become a better person. Honey, I'm sure that having a religion to believe in, can actually change the way you think and behave. So, think twice....... *^*lawa-17*^* |

actually thats wrong, god told mary to choose joseph to do 'you know' with. god didn't force her into having a baby. Mary agreed, if she didn't god will pick someone else |

You have insulted my faith. Jesus was conceived with out intercourse. Mary was a virgin. Having a baby out of wedlock is never a sin. Sexual relations outside of marriage is a sin, whether or not it results in the conception of a baby. Your words are like the swinging of the hammer that drove the nails into my Savior's wrists. Mary is a virgin, therefore, God didnt (so call) "rape" Mary!! How can God commit a sin when He is perfect in every way. WE are the inperfect, WE humans commit sins. I am offended, very. How can you say God is a "a rapest hipocrit"? -AHD |

author 27028 where does it say that i have read the bible and watched that movie on Jesus that was on TV a couple weeks ago it had nothing on mary talking to god asking for her concent and i already said if you feel offended stop reading so dont yell at me for offending its not my fault you ignorantly continued reading and disregarded that warning-Jestr |

That movie you referred to was a major disappointment. The only way to know the truth is to read the accounts in the Bible. The movie didn't portray things accurately. I read your warning, but consider this. You use remarks about God that even a dog doesn't deserve. How can I not defend God when someone attacks Him? I love Him and am grateful to Him. Therese |

The "only" way to find the truth is to "read the bible"!!!???? I DON'T think so! We'd ALL be in a heap of trouble IF the bible were the ONLY source of truth. The Bible is very confusing, very contradictory, and is NOT the best source. As for the comment about "Peaching to christians", Paranoid, Will YOU puh-leeze!!?? Your post, and several others, I have noticed where you have gone in and posted a statement with NO examples, no back up, whatso ever. Yeah, YOU "puh-leeze"! The Thinker |

Oh, and for the 1st person who posted on here, saying "religion is absolutely essential", I strongly DISAGREE with that! Being a better person, having integrity, love and compassion, and doing the right things as a humanist, has NOTHING to do with religion!! The Thinker |

Hey Thinker! I have 2 "replies" that I am working on... (one happens to be a request from you) My memory isn't the greatest, so I am not as quick sometimes on giving people the source(s) of all my facts. Like you, I would prefer some references to go along with other people's opinions when necessary. I don't think I stated any opinion on Jestr's statement - just an opinion on how he received other people's opinions. I don't agree with the attitude(s) that some of the other people replied with either. --Paranoid-- |

Jestr, Check out: About.com , if you want to really read about some of the various sects, cults, of christianity, and or the Religious Right. There's everything you can imagine on this site about EVERYTHING, every belief, anything that has to do with religions and non-religious beliefs. The Thinker |
