The play in near complete. Only two performers remain. A boy and girl in opposition. Her back is turned, Not caring which way is up. He is on both knees, Huddling over lonely ambers. A mighty flame once burned bright, Now the house lights take stage. Short, short puffs on tired ashes, Hoping to regain comforting warmth. Quickly she pivots, Marches to his heart's beat. One swift kick, Soot covered face. Her nose upturned, exits stage left, He remains, heart on the floor. The play now done. He looks up to the audience, Only a sea of empty chairs. The light fades to gone, The curtain descends to close. Enveloped in darkness. Through will, the only escape. He doesn't even try.
