Amount of Replies - by muas

Here's something I've been wondering about. When you go to a list of topics, does how many replies a certain story have influence your decision to click on the story and read it? Or is it based *completely* on your interest in the story's title?

I think that, for me, it is a mixture of the two. I mostly click on subjects and then notice how many replies it had later, and sometimes I click on stories that have zero responses just to make a response and not make the author feel bad about nobody replying at all.

What about you?

Date: 6/25/2001 8:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 21499    Honostly I pretty much click on the games, humor, embarrassing, and disscusion, other then that its all in the title...i think that made some sense...lol ~*grooveeme93*~
Date: 6/25/2001 8:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 16442    Its my interest in the title that does it for me. thats why half the time, I am the first replier and the other half, I am the last or in the middle. So for me it is purely interest!! : )
Date: 6/25/2001 8:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 19763    ITS MY INTEEREST IN THE TITLE. GOOD QUESTION! *dAmEoNaNgEl*
Date: 6/25/2001 8:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 22433    oh my gosh! just a few mins ago i was thinking of posting the EXACT same question! except i was at a diff site at the time and was gonna do it when i came back lol. Anyway, yea, I go and read a story based on it's title, but if i noticed it has a whole bunch of replies(like, 20 or more), i usually don't reply cuz most likely what i've wanted to say has already been said. ^H^
Date: 6/25/2001 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    It's the title; the subject matter, that first catches my eye. Sometimes if it is a subject that has been done many times, I won't bother, like abortion, gun control, etc. If I click on a story and it is all CAPS, or lots of misspelled words, or is extremely long (copy & paste jobs), I don't bother replying. Date: 6/25/2001 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 8224    The title, content, subject and author. The length of the post isn't an issue with me, but the construction of the subject is - I don't have the patience when it comes to an on going amount of mis-spelled words, nor does the amount of replies play a part in my choice of what post I read or respond to.
Date: 6/26/2001 12:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 8941    I read the titles first, choose one that's intresting to me, glance at the number of comments, then read it, anyway. :) Sometimes, though, if there are over 30 or 40 comments, especially around 100, and I catch that, usually scrolling back up to change pages, I'll read it to see what the fuss is about ;)
Date: 6/26/2001 7:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 36508    No its the name of the post that catches my eye...and the area in which its posted!
Date: 6/26/2001 8:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 36459    I like your idea of clicking on the zero posts. Many a good poem has been left unread!
Date: 12/11/2001 4:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 47700    no it doesnt not for me its just how the name sounds or if its something to do with what i am going through at that time that i feel like reading
