LEAF TRADERS - S.

As the sun puts on a new layer of skin
And sneezed the heat into the day
They sat in a circle trading leaves
While fanning the heat away

The leaves were bigger then their heads
And they traded them for their colors
Some had only red and orange
But some had many others

The heat was pouring down on them
As they tried to make their trades
Getting a little agitated
From the heat and choices made

"Ain't ya got a green one?"
Said Shine with a frown
"No", said Dew, "Not at all"
As he laid a yellow one down

"Come on, who's got brown?"
Said Limpy in a fit
"Dew's got one", said Shine
"And he's sitting on it"

"No I don't, that's my shoe"
Dew snapped back at him
"Go on and ask Nimble"
"He's got more of them"

Around and around went the fanning
And snide little remarks
The sun was now high noon
With no signs of getting dark

Limpy stoled Dew's yellow leaf
Shine slapped Nimble with his red
And the trading all that afternoon
Left black and blue bumps
On each one's head
