This past Sunday, October 4, 1998, I was riding back to college with two of my friends. We were traveling Route 77 in Pennsylvania, just outside of Corry, and as we entered the small area of Spartansburg at about 7:45pm, we saw something on the horizon that didn't quite look like a normal plane. It had a few blinking red lights on it, and as it approached closer we realized that its shape was far from being that of a plane or helicopter, or any other kind of normal explanation. It picked up speed suddenly and disappeared over a hilltop. We continued on our drive, and ten minutes later, we saw it again, approaching us on the passenger side of the truck, where I was sitting. The object was almost directly above us when it sort of stopped and kept hovering there. I could look up out of the passenger side window and see the underside of the structure. It had a definite triangular shape, faint steady pale blue lights on the bottom, and red blinking lights on the sid! es. We pulled off the road in order to watch it. Suddenly, as before, it picked up speed and sped off in the direction from which we had been coming. My friend Aubrey and I opened the window and could hear the whirring sound it made as it moved through the air. We saw a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction, and when it was about thirty feet past us, it pulled over also, so we believe that other people saw this object. I have never been one to believe in stories like this, so I can hardly even believe that I am telling other people about it. I have told family and friends, but I am too embarrassed to tell a newspaper or anyone else. My three friends and I realize that we will probably never see anything like that again! We really want to know if there were other people who saw it that night. If a person was outside, there was no way he could miss it. We went back to talk to the other people who pulled over, but they had gone. If you have any information or s! uggestions, please let us know. What an experience! How it changed my life:I don't really know its effect on me yet -- it just happened two days ago! I am still trying to make sense of it. But seeing it was an incredibly frightening, mystifying experience.
