Wear one of those medical masks when you are handling or near the hampster, it will help filter out the air and any hair. Make sure you room is dusted often. Also, you might consider using a fan to better circulate the air. Dave |

If the females are the ones that let off that odor, then the next time you get a hampster, get a male. I have asthma and allergies. I almost know what you're going through. I'm not allergic to pets though. I'm allergic to a local plant that comes out in fall. I get really bad asthma and my allergies really act up. You can goto your doctor and ask about Serevent, Claritin, and a fast acting inhaler (albuterol). Zyrtec works too. If you take your meds regularly, you won't be sick. |

I've had asthmatic bronchitis three times, and I do not have any pets, nor am I around pets. The doc said that since I have weakened lungs, the bronchitis found an easy foothold. I know that asthma attacks can be brought on by pets, though. You should check out your pollen count in your area. You never know exactly what is causing your attacks. Romance aka Love Monkey |
