It was a cool August night, I think, in 1996. I was finally getting away from it all. A vacation in an old cottage home where some family was distordly murderd. But they were all layed to rest, right? That's what I thought. As I was getting un-packed upstairs (it was a two-story home) , I looked up and you'll never beleive what I saw (I swear i'm not lying) . All 4 supposed members of the family. A boy, no more than 11, a housewife, and your average middle - aged father. But the worse part? Covered in blood. It was dark red, like from a deep wound. For a moment, I was terrified, and felt a little sick. The boy had a decapitated arm. I closed my eys and opened them again. Gone. Must be all in my head, right? I headed back downstairs, shaken, when they re-appeard again. The power went dead. There I was, standing at the stop of the staircase, with them at the bottom, their blank, expressionless, blood-coverd faces staring at me. Disgusting. The mother ! looked at me. I remember what she said as if it was yesterday. 'Get Out' . The father started marching up the stairs after me. I was thinking 'how the **** would I get out of this place?' . I closed my eyes and ran down the stairs. The mother's voice kept flashing in my mind over and over. I ran from the house. I looked back on the way from the drive home at the house. It looked just like a normal house from the outside. I looked up at the room where I was at when they first appeard. I saw a blood smear of a hand (seen from the light in the room) . Was this there before? Was this where the family was slaughterd? I'm never going back to find out. How it changed my life:I now beleive in allot more things than before.
