How do u get rid of a ouji board safely to make sure nothing bad happens?

I have been using my ouji board, by myself on and off for months. I've decided to not use it anymore, but i am a little concerned that the ouji board could still effect me and the flat i live in. I'm not sure if im being paranoid and my overactive imagination is getting the best of me, or that there could be a real danger. Anyway is there anything i can do to make sure that anything that could happen doesnt happen.I have considered burning it and extinguishing the flames with holy water for example.
