Well put. A person can do all kinds of good deeds to others, but when it comes to you Dad's story, that was really great. He acted in accordance to his heart. He didn't think about it for a single moment and just acted upon it. Jesus said "Believe in Me" but he also said, "If you can not believe in me, then believe in the work I do". LillyCats ![]() |

It's true... When you're connected with Christ and believe in what he said and did, you will become more like him. It's just a natural process that takes place and all the theological intricasies that a few people let themselves get wrapped up in become so simple. ~PacificSoul~ ![]() |

Exactly! Well put! I too have always believed that Jesus meant to believe his message...which was to love one another. That is the path. Adding all these other complications only confuses or loses the message. ![]() |

Hi Rad..This is an excellent post..It is obvious that Jesus gave so many examples so that we would "follow Him"..His teachings were given so that we could "follow Him"..When He says that we must believe in Him,this doesn't simply mean that we are to believe He is,but we must also do as He teaches..Sincerely Rusure ![]() |

this is a wonderful story..I believe that so many people spend so much time trying to look like they are doing the right things that they lose track of what they are supposed to be doing..You are right, all things should be done out of love and faith..not because you think that it looks good...the Lord sees our hearts and our souls and he can see when a person's faith is genuine. Thank you for sharing this with us, and I would sure like to have a little window into your soul...I have a strong feeling that it is beautiful! xoxo ![]() |

I agree with you totally. I think He meant it figurativly and literaly. It would be pointless, like you said, to do good things for the "fame" of it. But at the same time, if you do things with your heart is involved, I think there is a place in heaven for those that do that. I agree with you. ![]() |

Very well said! This reminds me of the phrase...unless you become as a child...a child loves and does with a whole, glad heart, unlike adults who do because it is expected of them or because it will bring respect or liking from peers. A lot of things an adult does are extensions of...if I do this, will it gain ME anything. A child's view...I'll do this because it will make her/him happy. Not expecting to gain anything, just because. Thanks for sharing your views, I believe the same way! ![]() |

Great Post!!! I agree with all you said. It like some can talk the talk but are you really walking the walk? I will always be learning from Jesus and want to do what is right but I make so many mistakes. I seen those that were supposed to be wicked and evil give up their last dollar to help out someone. And I've seen those trying to pretend they are good, turn their backs on the needy if nobody was looking. You are right about it has to do with feeling love for people naturally like Jesus did. Even when his deciples turned their backs on him and the Roman soliers mocked our Lord, he didn't use His Power to hurt them back. Thank you for this post. (HUGS) ![]() |

That's a good point Penny, Some people can talk the talk, but are they walking the walk? It reminds me of one of the Long John Silver films, the one where this Scottish Captain quotes the Bible alot and then goes against his promise to the boy that he wouldn't hurt Silver, because Silver was going to mutiney. The boy was shocked because he quotes the Bible and didn't keep his word. Long John Silver then said to the boy, "Those that quote the Bible has less Bible in them then those who don't." So the character is talking the talk but is not walking the walk! LillyCats ![]() |

Beautiful post, your right, it's a very simple concept or formula. When we try to intellectualize God we loose site of His message. I like what Thunder added, "We all miss the meaning when looking too close, It becomes mental." It's not meant to be "mental" or "physical" it's suppose to be SPIRITUAL. ![]() |

I love this post, and I have to agree with what you said here. I once saw a accident happen right in front of me. A lady drove her car into a (grass) mower at 65 mph, on a highway. Not one person was willing to go to her car, I knew I had to be the one, once getting there she had been knocked out but woke when I touch her to see if she was still breathing, after she opened her eyes, she asked me to stay..well I had to leave cause of the blood, need something to apply to it so she would not bleed to death. Everyone kept asking why I did what I did, and I would reply with GOD says we need to be there in other's time of need, I didn't want that lady to die alone, I wanted her know I cared and I was there. I prayed that GOD would save the this lady cause she had a daughter and you know what GOD did save her. I had to ask myself what would Jesus do and I got my answer with what I did....sorry to be so longed typed here lol.... but I had to say something. So I go where my heart takes me cause I know GOD talks to me with it. ![]() |

I believe that those who believe will begin to walk the walk and shine as a beacon on the hill. Although we should still remember that we are still human and are not even close to perfection, we will fail sometimes. It's when we grow from our mistakes then we are truely on the correct path that Jesus walked.... ![]() |

Good deeds done, without the love from your heart, doesn't give you a feeling of satisfaction, and warmth. When it comes freely without a second thought...it is the most wonderful feeling in the world. You don't desire to have a pat on the shoulder from anything done out of love, but the warmth and the thought that Jesus is pleased with you...is enough. It's not always easy...especially to someone who might be an enemy, or just seems like they are out to get you...but Jesus set the example to love our enemies to do good to them...and many times when love is shown to them, no matter how they treat you at first...then It turns around and you have a friend for life...YES...Love is wonderful. ![]() |

Very well said, Admin! I totally agree with you. I do what my heart tells me, because I know it's God telling me to do so. I always act out of kindness of my heart. Alot of the time I don't get back, but I still go on doing what he tells me do. Right now, for example, I met a lady few years younger than me that has nothing. She is worse off then me. I try to help her the best I can. Thanks for sharing this Admin. Hugs and Love, ![]() |

Radman, this is the way I feel also...I was at one time a Sunday school teacher, I was so very religious, to the place I felt I could reach out and touch God. This is when you love others, more than yourself.I still feel this same way ,even though I don't go to church, like I once did. Thank you for your post ,as this was really very good.
