I witnessed Ghost Road myself on this very evening.
I returned home facsinated by it and jumped on my computer to find out more about this.

I went out to Ghost Road last thursday, feeling pretty skeptical. Now I don't know what to think...its really convincing! Do you know anything about ghostly dogs or wolves associated with the light? Each time the light appeared, myself and the group of about 12 people I was with would hear dogs barking, but no noise when the light disappeared. At one point, the light appeared and on cue, there was a huge cacaphony of howling! Really amazing, it blew everyone there away! I plan a trip back before halloween and I'm bringing a good microphone and a video camera with infra-red. |

3 of us went out last night and saw the light about 5 times and the tail light about 4 times. It was pretty windy and there was a little bit of rain. Not a "storm" though. My friend stood on the rock for about 20 seconds and nothing happened. Its pretty neat though and I think everyone should check it out. You wont believe it till ya see it. Oh, and we didnt hear any wolves either. |

I have been to ghost road three times. I admit I was skeptical at first but I gave it a chance. What a chance that was! I went with 5 people the first time and we saw the light and tail light 3 times. We also smelt cigarette smoke as if someone was standing right beside us smoking,(nobody was!) and intermittently we would smell gasoline.There was no other cars there, and I'll tell yah, it wasn't our car!! Each time I've been it's been a different experience, and we've seen it every time so far.I will remember this experience for life!! |

I think this story or hoax is a bunch of crap. I went there five times. I didn't see anything, I dont know what these people are talking about they must be crazy or something. I waited and waited for hours and never seen anything. *@#! that place it sucks. |

I have been to ghost road many times. I have seen the light, and have seen it turn colour (to red) For anyone who doesn't believe it, then have you looked at a map to see that it can't be another road? I have a map that shows there is no other road where the light is coming from. Check it out, your first time seeing the light will give you chills. I have also captured the light on my camcorder...some say that isn't possible. |

I lived near Ghost Road all my life. As a teenage this was a great place to meet friends and chat (tee hee). The light has been an unexplained mystery since I can remember. The light appears without warning and can be an eerie experience butI have never had anything bad happen to me when on tour. Check it out and BE PATIENT!!!!! |

About one month ago I saw the ghost of port perry and I was really facinated about it. I decided to run out into the field with a friend to see if we could get a closer look at it. We never did see the light from the field. Many of my friends say that the light is just a car coming over a lost hill or they have explanation for themselves. I don't believe in any of those explanation. They are ghost and this is proof |

Ok..I've been twice and am going back tonight to prove some friends who don't believe wrong. The first time I was there I took a picture of the rock and it was a perfectly clear night. In the picture it appears to be somewhat foggy and little sparkles of light everywhere. The only other thing I have seen while at Old Ghost Road is little fire flies flying through the trees... in the middle of winter :P So obviously it isn't really fire flies. It's true, dammit! I've seen it. It's a very queer phenomenon. Two psychics apparently visited the site and claimed the presence of a spirit named Dave Sweeney, who died in a motorcycle accident. People have also reported incidents involving a huge black mangy cat that sometimes appears in the area. The strange howls that usually accompany this phenomenon are courtesy of the local farm dogs that live on the property at the corner of Pine Point Road and Mississauga Line. I've met them; they are very nice pooches. |

This is ture! My friend, her dad and I went to see it one day. We saw it seven times that night including the red tail light. Very cool, and i suggest you go see it. But I never heard anything about a rock. |

It was researched professionally a few years ago and it was concluded it was lights from aroad on the other side. A Big Urban Legend! But, I'm sure you know this & I know this will not make it to your web site, because you would like to keep it an UNSOLVED MYSTERY! |

This is real! many people believe this is just a big
joke but is it really! I myself have visited the
Port Perry ghost both tonight and last night. It
was unexplainitory I was amazied at what happened!
This beam of light comes from the woods and shines
towards u for 10-15 secs. It comes and goes! You can
even see the light fade to red! I recommened before
u judge come and see for yurself to believe. Both
nights i saw it three times between 10:00-11:30pm.
Also it is very easy to find! Take Damara Rd. and
it is your first right! Come to be amazied!!! |

I've seen it before too. At about 1:30am. The light came up the road before us, and then vanished. When we turned back down the road, the gravel crumbled louder than it had in the past few trips, and a few of us felt a cold chill down our spines.
The rock, however, had no effect on any of us. Though, it wasn't during a storm. I've never heard of that.

I saw the light about a month ago. It was weird. I didn't know what to expect and was kinda skeptical, I had heard so many things not knowing which were true. It is like a phenomena, I believe it is real because once you see it you'll know there is no other explanation for it, it doesn't reflect off anything at all. One thing I found really spooky was that my friend was at the rock and I was watching down the road and I saw it right beside her and she didn't see it! If there is proof that it isn't true, as stated above, then show me some proof. Sweets |

This is true, i live in Oshawa and make the trip down alot. It comes anytime it is dark, not just after 9pm. I have also been to the graveyard which is about 8 mins after the turnoff to the casino. It is really old and you have to go through a mini forest then a up a big field. I forget what it is called but there is a old small sign out front on the main street. It is on the left if travelling away from the casino road. I did not believe in it at all until I actually saw it for myself. |

I myself went to the port pery ghost and it was unbelievably scary I couldn't breathe well I saw the light the motorcycle footsteps outside my car. When we asked around the town about the ghost people igored me about it and didn't want to talk about it. I get very scary shivers still to this day |

I have also seen this ghost however it happened on the road near to farm field. I saw the headlights and the taillights. This made me a true believer in ghosts.

Ok got some cool stuff 4 u, I have been 2 Ghost Road numerous times and I have seen it alot, and some times not at all. I have copies of articles from the "The Times" Dated Friday July 13th 1984 (spooky) which has an article about ghost road, another cliping (no date or paper name) about the naming of Ghost Road and problems with the locals. And something else no one probably remembers. A Murder in the woods along the side of Ghost Road in the Port Perry Star dated Tuesday July 31 1990, 2 many details to list 4 these, the dude was scentenced 2 life with no chance of parole 4 10 years. all the articles are black and white copies and there is a pic of the road and the rock and an aproximate location map anyone interested in copies email me at

Basic Directions to Ghost Road from Whitby Ontario are as follows - Follow Brock Street North ( Hwy 12 ) down a while and just past the Haugens chicken on the right there will be a right either Hwy 7 or 7a follow that right past the coffe time. Follow this road until it forks again, follow the fork right, keep driving you will go over a piece of road with the lake on both sides of you. Follow this road until Island Road, Make a left onto island road, I follow island road until Pine Point Road which I believe is right after a tiny white house on your right, take Pine Point Left follow it down until you get to Missisaugas Trail, go left because u can't go right, you should see the rock on the corner and a farm house and barn opposite that, now drive down and turn around voila!!!
