i dont know really..long nails look nicer..but for myself, i dont keep them REAL short, just long enough so they dont get in the way, and short enough so it dont look like i got a bad habbit of chewing off my nails  |

I have really long fingernails and i love them, in fact i couldnt imagine not having them. They are acrilic (sp?) and found them a bit tricky when i first got them but, now after about 2 yrs i couldnt function without them ~ LOL! Even typing would be hard i think :D  |

I keep mine short because I don't like the upkeep of long ones...plus, it's a given that I'm going to tear one or something, like you said, so for me, it's short.  |

During the school year I wear my nails kinda long cause I think they look good but during the summer the chlorine from my pool and the salt water make them brittle and bad looking so i cut them shorter. E-cutie86  |

I thought this was going to be a post about acrylic nails in which case I had something to say. But it's not so I have to say that in my opinion nails should always be clean and manicured. There's nothing worse than seeing someone that has 3 inch acrylic nails. Theres no way that can be sanitary. I think also that people that work with food should have short natural nails, no acrylics! (I'm a licensed nail tech)  |
