Viewing an Autopsy...It was Interesting ~Hollylovebug~

This may sound gross, but.....Back in April, me and my science club at college went to the medical examiner's office and saw a real autopsy! We were about 5 feet from the actual body and sitting inside the room(no glass windows or anything). It was really strange at first b/c the man had only killed himself 12 hours earlier but we soon got used to it. The brain was really pretty and I never knew the liver was so big! Anyways, I won't go into detail about the examination because I feel that it may be disrespectful to the man who died. But, I just thought of it as scientifically interesting more than it was sad. Hope this doesn't get deleted, Oh well. I just think science is very intruiging. :)~Hollylovebug~

But I will take your word for it since I don't plan on ever discovering that for myself ;) It's cool that you got that experience though...extremely cool. My school never gets that kind of hands-on stuff going. ~CaseyGirlie
Date: 7/31/2001 9:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    I have also been intrigued enough because of my medical background, I think we all have some interest in what happens to our body after death. I have also had many patients die "sudden deaths" which, even though it seemed morbid I wanted to know the exact cause of death.

Date: 7/31/2001 10:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    How did he kill himself? I am just curious due to the fact that the number one method for suicide by men is with a gun to the inside of the mouth (blow their brains out)... You say the brain was pretty, but I don't think they are very pretty after such an act...You can message me if you don't want to say it here...

Date: 7/31/2001 11:18:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 3395    Well, I guess since ya'll don't know the gentleman's name I will tell you how he died. He suffered from bi-polar disorder for most of his life and in a sudden fit of depression, he over dosed on some pills of somekind.
