Tanning?

Forgive me! I know tanning is unhealthy, but I like to have a pretty glow. Any tips on how to achieve a nicer tan without peeling in a tanning bed or the sun? Thanks!

Date: 7/31/2001 10:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    get the stuff in a bottle? lol I don't know I'm a strawberryblonde and we generally don't look that great with a tan...*sigh*
Date: 7/31/2001 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    i agree with Becky ~ try tanning in a bottle. I dont use it but i know people that do it works well. Just make sure that you get a good brand and wash your hands when your done otherwise you'll get brown hands! A good idea would be to go to a beautian and get them to put a fake tan you ~ watch what they do and what brand they use....and then copy them! Good luck :D
Date: 7/31/2001 11:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 30786    Try faking it with self- tanner. Your skin will look just as good and no one will tell the difference except you in 20 years or so
Date: 8/1/2001 1:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 18516    I've tried the fake tanners and they don't work to well. You end up looking all muddy and streaky. But I have read about this one self tanner and it's by Coppertone u can find it at ur local drugstore but it cost like 12 bucks. Maybe try that for starters. Good luck! :)
Date: 8/1/2001 6:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 15657    Cover yourself in Iodine! Never mind, that won't work. :\ I don't know actually, those products are chemicals in a bottle and just stain your skin. In'ts like...brown sharpy marker ink in a bottle. lol. and if you put it on wrong you look all distoted. I go for...I don't know.:-)
Date: 8/1/2001 7:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    I use the stuff in the bottle, the spray on kind goes on pretty smooth, I've never put it on my face though, normally just my legs and my arms. Start with the lightest shade and than reapply every few days, make sure you scrub your hands with soap afterwards....Kelly
Date: 8/1/2001 8:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 25828    there are pills you can buy that work from the inside out. they increase melanin flow and change the pigmentation a bit. used to sell i tin bodybuilding mag's. L-carnitine is coming to mind but i'm not sure. do a search on yahoo for 'tanning pills' and you'll probably find links..it's better than the fake gels and stuff because it is even.
Date: 8/1/2001 10:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 3538    I use the fake stuff.I use the tan in a bottle.I like it more, even thought it does not last too long.
Date: 8/4/2001 8:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 31145    I'm like my brother, which we tan very easily, and dont really get sun burned, yet, I dont go out in the sun much. He goes to a tanning bed, and so far he went 4 times, and with him everyone could already see a difference. I do need to get a better tan though, but I'll probably go to the tanning beds, even though its not very health for you.
Date: 8/4/2001 6:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 38192    Sorry to admit but my mom said for me to try this fake tanning stuff from Estee Lauder... lol... I know. But it's the only thing for me until I get a real tan. It wears off in 3 days but I haven't used it in a while. I have a good tan... A REAL one anyway. But if you want fake do the Estee Lauder one cause it works and you'll get DARK! So good luck!
Date: 8/5/2001 6:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 23129    well, have you tried tan perfect*??? it's a self-tanner that is actually colored, not just clear or white. at least that way you will know where you're putting it. good luck!!! personally, i just learned to like my fair skin. it can also be a pretty trait:)
