100% True Tarot Card Story --if you scare easily don't read!!!

The year was 1983 and it was spring break. I was a sophomore in high school and I had complained to my parents that we never went on vacation. So, I convinced my parents that we drive from Michigan to Florida for spring break. I had fun....I had a beer with my dad at Busch gardens.

About 6 months ago (14 years after spring break), the subject of tarot cards came up....probably in response to seeing "Miss Cleo" on t.v. My mom then told me this story (I didn't learn this until 6 months ago). She said that my dad went to see my aunt before the trip and she wanted my "read my dad's fortune" with the cards. My dad didn't believe in that junk, but finally asked her to tell him how his trip was going to go. Well, she read his fortune and after drawing the cards she freaked out and said that someone close to my dad was going to die during the trip. She asked if I was o.k., and if my mom was o.k. And he said yes. She warned him to be careful. He thought it was a load of crap and didn't mention it to me. While we were in Florida, my aunt died. She had difficulty breathing and called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. The hospital refused to admit her b/c she wasn't covered by insurance. She died while en route to another hospital. So, the tarot cards predicted her own death. --kid guitar

How it changed my life:

Date: 7/31/2001 11:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 35010    Instead of taking tarot cards, why don't they take the fact that life is just one big surprise!!!
Date: 8/1/2001 12:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 41548    Everything that has to do with devination comes from satan. People who often have the ability to read tarot cards don't know this. They sometimes view it as helping others. In my opinion, I think everyone should stay away from all that. Let's just put it this way if God wanted us to have the ability to fortell the future , he would of given it to us. And your right to be afraid of tarot cards.

Date: 8/1/2001 8:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 22852    well that was indeed a good story. The hospital should never have turned her away.. last I heard that was against the law.
Date: 8/1/2001 11:01:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 40855    Thank you for your comments. Yes, under COBRA the hospital should have let her in. In fact it is illegal for a hospital to deny medical treatment just because a person does not have insurance. In this case, my Aunt was in that very hospital for 3 days just 2 days prior to this event. However, the Medi-cade rule is that for a person to stay in the hospital for greater than 3 days you need to have a diagnosis of a treatable illness. Because the hospital had just discharged her 2 days prior, they decided that they could not get paid for re-admitting her. They told her that it was "all in her head" and that she wasn’t really sick. We went to about 12 lawyers to try to sue the hospital and the problem is that you need to get an expert (a medical doctor) to testify in court (against a hospital consortium that owns many hospitals, i.e. where doctors work) that the hospital did not act properly. The only way that hospitals are going to act responsibly is if they can be sued for not acting responsibly. The system is now set up to protect the hospital. I even tried to sue the hospital myself, and spent about $7,000 of my own money to try to gather the paperwork, and get the paperwork analyzed by a doctor. Unfortunately, after spending $7,000 I could not find a doctor that was willing to testify against the hospital. And now, thanks to "tort reform" it is too late to sue the hospital. --kidguitar
Date: 8/1/2001 12:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 31615    I use tarot cards, and they haven't freaked me out...even if I sometimes get the death card...ususally the cards can have dozens of different meanings, so I am not scared.
Date: 8/1/2001 12:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 31615    And another thing, tarot cards are not part of some satanic worship.....hmpf....small minded people!
Date: 8/1/2001 9:07:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 40855    I don't think that anybody is saying that tarot cards are part of satanic worship. I think that "worship" would require some sort of intent or purpose on the part of the person using the cards. My aunt knew how to use the cards b/c she was confined to a wheelchair for her entire life and she had a lot of time to spend learning about things like that. She also considered herself a Christian. However, I don't think its god talking either b/c the bible warns against divination. pls see my post on Ouija Mysteries "the closet: a true tarot experience" --kidguitar
