Date: 7/31/2001 11:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    Yes, Millenium Witch has some good ones...I would ask his mom...that's what I did with my husband...I'll go search through some of mine though, because his aunts have some really good recipes, and his mom makes some excellent pralines, but I don't think I have that one.

Date: 7/31/2001 11:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    Okay, after scanning through mine, I'm thinking that Texas food might differ from Kentucky food, but I would suggest in addition to asking his mom, that you try to find some of the fundraiser cookbooks, like churches sale that include recipes from members, and the Taste of Home magazines and cookbooks have some really good recipes in them, I've gotten so many good recipes from them. But I think that you should cook what you know too, because he will appreciate that, and may love your cooking.

Date: 8/12/2001 8:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 35456    I HIGHLY suggest you join a ladies group at the local chirch, you will get all the help you need, it will take a long time to learn to cook southern, as we all cook different. Take it easy, cook Yankee style, and as you learn from the church ladies, you will develope you own style. yardbird
