Yes, Millenium Witch has some good ones...I would ask his mom...that's what I did with my husband...I'll go search through some of mine though, because his aunts have some really good recipes, and his mom makes some excellent pralines, but I don't think I have that one.  |

Okay, after scanning through mine, I'm thinking that Texas food might differ from Kentucky food, but I would suggest in addition to asking his mom, that you try to find some of the fundraiser cookbooks, like churches sale that include recipes from members, and the Taste of Home magazines and cookbooks have some really good recipes in them, I've gotten so many good recipes from them. But I think that you should cook what you know too, because he will appreciate that, and may love your cooking.  |

yep I'll ask the ladies in my family they are multi cultural they cook every thing from coose coos and crab meat Fratada to fried chicken and buffalo wings I'll get back to ya on that one as a matter of fact I want to be a chef when I grow up any ways so this little reserch would be good for me too!! |

I HIGHLY suggest you join a ladies group at the local chirch, you will get all the help you need, it will take a long time to learn to cook southern, as we all cook different. Take it easy, cook Yankee style, and as you learn from the church ladies, you will develope you own style. yardbird |
