A "Magic/Magick" section -- *PsiMage*

I seen suggestions for a Wiccan/Pagan section already and I have said that is too specific. Instead I think there should be a magic/magick sectionon here. That way other type of magical practices are not discluded including: Wiccan, Pagan, Mage, Necromancer, Druid, Conjurer, Wizard, Healer, Elementalist, Enchanter, Satanist (though it is considered a bad side of the coin), Sorcerer, Cleric, White Magician, Black Magician, Pure Energist, to name a few. A that isn't even all the magical types. That way with magic/magick section you wouldn't be discluding other magic types by just have Wiccan/Pagan which is an insignificant number of magic practitioners compared to all the types that would be discluded. All magic users can be happy and post their views or whatever. BTW the reason for having the section have "Magic/Magick" is the difference in types of magic. "Magic" is not the sleight-of-hand stage tricks but active casting types of magics which require no ritual and in case of magecraft no incantations either. And Magick is the notation for the indirect magics such as Wiccan/Pagan. So USM Admins, if you see this post there is more reason to add this section rather than a Wiccan/Pagan section. That way you may draw more people here and are including the possibility for ALL types of magic making it a worthwhile addition. Also it would keep non-magical things separate that would otherwise be there in a subject like Ancient Beliefs.

PS: Show your support of such an addition to the USM Admins by replying to this post. The more replies the more likely such an addition can come about.

Date: 8/2/2001 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 27121    That would be interesting to have that type of section. Even though i don't practice any of it, it would still be useful to those who practice Magic/Magicks.
Date: 8/2/2001 9:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 15657    I agree that would be cool. :) Someplace to dissucss it specialy instead of putting it it the Ancient belifes, or advice section.
Date: 8/2/2001 9:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 22157    that would be interesting but i didnt know necromancy existed-insanebread
Date: 8/3/2001 12:03:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33357    Oh yea Necromancy exists. What I speak of is not divination with spirits of the dead. Necromancy is the practice of being able to manipulate death energies to do things, much in the way that an Elementalist would manipulate the different energies of the Elements for their spells.
Date: 8/3/2001 1:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    I am Pagan and I do not agree with you. We have the religious section for positive good about faith and what is believed in, no matter the religion. There are other sites that you could go to for this as if we have a magick section, then Budda will want one, Jehovahs will want one, Christians will want one, Santerians will want one, see where I am going with this? It is all religion. And that column exsists here already. Besides, some of the stuff that I have seen people who claim to be Witch, Wiccan or Pagan just really are copying and pasting things from other sites and bringing them here. No, I do not agree with this point what-so-ever. I did not agree when it was posted the 30 other times either, so please do not feel that I am singling you out. I have been Pagan over 40 years, and what I have seen here is not the real thing. You cannot just WAKE UP and claim to know much about the Craft. There may be a few hit and misses, but it is not very appetizing to me to read something that was copied and pasted from another site. You want orignality, go look at my website with over 80 pages of Witchcraft and then tell me if you still feel the same about your beliefs of being Witch, Wiccan or Other Magical Religion.
Date: 8/3/2001 1:20:00 AM  ( Admin-5 )   And I am an admin, so, you kind of have the same opinion above only in Sur5r Mode. (-:
Date: 8/3/2001 8:31:00 AM  ( Admin )   I'm not a big proponent of people trying out magic. If magic exists, it would allow people to control events or other people in ways they would not be able to control. So.. I say no to the magic stuff. The real magic in life is not what you create it's what creates you. Believe in the love you have for others not yourself and you will be happy regardless of your position in life.
Date: 8/8/2001 9:51:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33357    What is this? Kick on PsiMage day. To Sur5r, your comment was harsh, biased, and so stereotypical of adults who have done things longer than other people. Don't take this as me being rude. But just because you have 40 years of being in the "Craft" don't be over presumptuous. Firstly. I am not of the craft, so I don't know why you have been sticking that tag, or rather that self proclaimed not earned tag, as you claim, on me. And for you not agreeing with me, your reason makes no sense. I'm sure you don't know much about most of the other magical practices i have listed in this post or else you would know, they are NOT religion based and therefor cannot fit into the religion section of USM. And as to all those religions you listed in your reply, those are just that, religions, that have nothing to do with the magical practices I listed and therefor they couldn't possibly want there own section. Like you said, there is the religion section for them and the religion based magical paths. But the paths like magecraft, necromancy, wizardy, to name a few, they are not religion based. Where are their places on this site? That is why I suggested the Magic/Magick section. About the waking up and claiming to know much about the craft. I don't think you are talking to me, I hope not anyway, since I have made no mention of the craft or proclaimed my self to be a witch or otherwise in that type of magical, religion based practice. So besides what Admin had to say, I am wondering what you think now, since it happens to be that a section for what "I" suggested does NOT exist. Thank you.
Date: 8/12/2001 3:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 16621    I'm all for it, and by the way *cough* sur5r, magic/magick is not a religion, its a practice. Just because SOME wiccans/pagans do magick doesn't mean its their religion. the keyword theres is DO not ...be! okie dokie? okie dokie. -Zeth366
