At about nine o'clock at night while I was driving west on Hwy.46 (just leaving Lost Hills, CA) I saw a dark object coming from my left. My first thought was 'What is a blimp doing out in the middle of nowhere, this time of night, and without a single light?' In fact, the object was so dark it stood out against the night sky. I followed the object til it was just a few feet over- head, and then all at once it lit up front to back. The white lights flashed about every tenth of a second to create a moving line right down the middle of the 'blimp'. And almost simulta- neously the craft veered upward into the sky. I was able to follow it visually til it was little more than an star. I t more than a star. It must have been traveling at an incredible rate of speed. Do 'blimps' do these kinds of maneuvers? I don't think so. How it changed my life:The event happened in the 70's and the event is still vivid.
