Horror in the Mirror at The Landmark Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana

The Landmark Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana used to be the French Opera House which burned down many years ago. There has been numerous tales of it being haunted by those who did not escape the fire. My parent's were visiting me for a week and styed at the hotel because it has balconies that over look Bourbon Street and and they wanted to be able to sit up ther snd enjoy the French Qaurter without getting in the traffic of people that are always there in the street. I lived on St. Ann street just around the corner from the St. Louis Catherdral in an apartment that had an balcony but it didn't get the entertaining people like the ones that passed by their hotel. My story takes place in my parent's hotel room. As they were preparing to go out to dinner with my mother stood in front of the mirror that was attched to the dresser. While she was looking this mirror a face appeared and it was very distinct. You did not have to look at it in a certain way to catch the light just right or stand in a certain area of the room. Instead it was visible from any area of the room. My mother jumped back away from the mirror and summoned my father who was in the restroom at the time. When he entered the room my he noticed that my mother was very upset and frightened; pointing to the mirror. As he looked the mirror he saw the terrifying creature immaginable. It had a aface that was pure evil with horns. My father thougt that perhaps a trick was being played on them so he walked up to the mirror and looked closely at it. All he saw was the creature at a much closer view. He decided to look behind the mirror to see if there was some reason for the ima! ge being projected on to the surface of the mirror. Nothing, just the sealed back of the mirror. Fasinated he took out his camera and took pictures of it. When I came into the room to get them for dinner I was shown the image and I did the same investigative work that my Father had done except I took it step further and touched the surface only to find my fingers with frost burn. Now, this was quite interesting considering it was only 98 degrees outside and the room a/c was set at 75 degrees. It was like touching dry ice. I told them pack their suitcases because they were coming home with me, which they did. My mother was concerned that someone else might encounter this creature in the room so she pushed me to tell the hotel checkout personnel, which I did. 'By the you have a demon in your mirror in that room this why they are leaving. Good bye', said I as Imade a quick retreat out the door. She forgot that I lived in that city and may possibly run into these people on the s! treet. Once my paret's returned to Florida they had the film developed only to find this horrible face right in the center of the mirror on the picture and we still have this picture today.
