This story is entirely true. My sister Jean was renting this house in Rosemead, California. It was an older house, probably built around 1940. It had a strange set up. There is an archway that connects the dining room to a hallway. The hallway is very long to the right, going to the bedrooms. To the left is the kitchen, then straight ahead is the bathroom. From the living room you can look through the dining room into the hallway and bathroom. My niece Sarah, who was 3 at the time, never would go down the back hall by herself. There was also always cold spots (even when it was 100 degrees outside) in the hallway in front of the bathroom. When Jean moved out, I and my other sister Marion and our husbands moved into the house to share expenses. This is when things really started happening. One night, my sister and I were watching TV in the living room. The one wall in the living room was all windows, looking out onto a screened porch. Out of the corner of m! y eye I saw something moving on the porch. It was a misty figure, about 3 feet high, and it moved across the porch slowly. My first thought was that it was a reflection of my sister, but then I realized I could see her in the glass. Next, I thought it was one of our husbands, but I could here them in the other room playing on the computer. I continued watching the mist as it moved outside and into the ivy. I turned, and my sister said 'Did you see our ghost.' She had apparently seen my interest and looked and saw it too. Other things started happening. My husband was alone in the house with the dog. He heard footsteps coming down the hall, and the dog did too, as it got up to investigate. There were loud bangs in the middle of the night, and the french doors that went from the dining room to the screened porch would rattle when there was no wind around. After my son was born, I would be up in the middle of the night feeding him, and I would see something move in the archway. This happened almost every night. The kitchen door would slam often. When my husband and I decided to move, it got really active. One day my sister and I were in the living room and we heard a strange noise in the kitchen. We rushed into the kitchen and all the magnets (and I am talking about 20 magnets) were off the refrigerator and on the floor. The bathroom would never get warm, even when you turned the heater on full blast, and the dog would whimper and cry when urged to go into the hall. My sister and I moved out when the owner sold the house. We don't know if anything happened after we moved but I am convinced that there was a ghost in that house. '
