Ok, my next project is to refinish my cabinets....(not reface) I have scratches on my (red oak/cherrywood) cabinets, enough to show the natural wood. I bought one of those crayons to fill it in for a temporary thing. But check this out! I have a pretty big kitchen. On one side the cabinets are one type of "cherry wood color" and on the other side of the room is a darker cherry color. I want the darker cherrywood......... Ok........should I sand the lighter cabinets down THEN stain? OR should I just go OVER the current color to match the darker cherry wood(or will it be too dark then?)? I did get a quote to have my cabinets professional done & it is $2000!!!! I could buy NEW cabinets for that cost!!! Thanks again!
