Momma Said There'd Be Days Like This BUT COME ON???????

WHAT A DAY.......................

I was awakened at 4:00 am by the phone ringing, it was my best friend. Her boyfriend had beat her up yet again, and then proceeded to leave their house and inform her he was going to another woman's house. I told her yet AGAIN, to LEAVE AND COME MOVE IN WITH ME. "No I can't,I love him" I spoke with her until 5:00 am calmed her down and told her to call me later. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I FELT SO POWERLESS TO DO SOMETHING AS I FELT THE MOMENT I HUNG UP THAT PHONE.

I finally got back to sleep at 5:30 am after telling my hubby what was going on, he simply said "WHY DOESN'T SHE LEAVE HIM AND COME OUT HERE?" I had to tell him she said "No I can't, I love him". He said she'll never learn and rolled over and we went back to sleep.

At 8:00 am I was awakened by my sobbing daughter who was burning up with a fever. Out came the thermometer, temp of 102. I called the DR.s office, not in 'til 9:00 am. Gave my daughter some tylenol cold medicine and some kool aid and told her to lay down on the couch and watch cartoons. She did crying the entire time that her throat hurt.

9:00 am I got ahold of the Dr's office, said to bring her right in. Got ready, got her ready.

9:30 I finally got her in the car and took her to the Dr's, they did a rapid strep test. No strep, the flu with an ear infection. Perscription written.

10:00 pharmacy, perscription filled, next off to the store for sherbert for her sore throat and Diet Coke for my mother who I am taking care of. She just had surgery 10/31 and she is laid up for 6-8 weeks, staying at my house and she is supposed to be on BED REST. She is a worse patient than my sick daughter, she won't stay in her bed and she is already wanting to do dishes and cook. I am going to end up TYING her to her bed AND locking her in her room soon IF she doesn't stop with the "I AM SOOO BORED, I CAN'T STAND NOT HELPING YOU".

11:00 home, oh hubby is there he decided he can grace me with his presence for 2 hours then he is going back out hunting with his "boyfriend", lol. Tell him "FINE, GO, DO WHATEVER, JUST STAY OUTTA MY WAY WHILE I AM CLEANING, ATTEMPTING TO COOK, AND DOING DISHES." Oh, did I forget to mention ALL the ligaments in my ankle is torn or stretched due to an act of stupidity that happened at the HOSPITAL. I am going through this LOVELY day with a wrapped ankle that is in a gel splint and on Darvocet. JUST A GREAT DAY SO FAR!!!!!

1:00 Hubby leaves, doing laundry,(which involves hopping down the steps and back up due to my washer and dryer being in our BASEMENT). Check my daughter's temp shot back up from 99.7 to 102.2 give more tylenol, check mom's temp,*needs checked 3 times a day while she is healing*, it is fine.

1:30 The cat is throwing up, call the vet, she tells me to bring her in on Monday if kitty doesn't start feeling better. THE CAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE HAD SHE NOT GOTTEN INTO THE TRASH AND AFTER HAVING HER BUFFET STRUNG IT ALL OVER THE KITCHEN.

2:00 best friend calls, "He never came home last night he stayed at a friends", told her YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO LEAVE AND STAY OUT HERE, HE IS AN ABUSIVE CREEP AND IF YOU DON'T REPORT HIM I WILL, she starts crying "You don't understand". ME = OHHHHHH I GIVE UP. She tells me "I am physically sick to my stomach, I keep throwing up my nerves are shot." I TELL HER THAT IS EXACTLY HOW SHAWN HER EX-HUBBY FELT WHEN HE WAS DIVORCING HER FOR LEAVING HIM FOR THE CREEP SHE IS WITH NOW, HE WAS ON PRILOSEC BECAUSE OF HIS STOMACH." Well just then she had to get off the phone, someone was beeping through on the otherline.

My point to all this is "HAS ANYONE EVER HAD A DAY LIKE THIS?", I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON, IT JUST GETS BETTER BUT I AM TO TIRED TO TYPE THE REST OUT, LOL, and actually I am getting tired from just thinking about today.....What do you do to unwind after a day like this????? Why does it seem like these days are starting to happen alot more often???? Do we sometimes spread ourselves to thin because we are giving so much of ourselves to help others?

Date: 11/10/2001 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 15997    atually i've been through many days like that. i hope ur daughter feels better soon. as for ur friend i've been through that with one of my friends and time and time again i told her to leave him but she said No cause she LOVED HIM. i know what its like to feel powerless. i felt bad every time she would call me crying that he hurt her. i even gave up on the friendship cause she kept staying with him and frankly i didnt want to see her hurt anymore. a few months after we stopped talking her bf died in a car accident. now can u imagine just how much more powerless i felt that my friend had to go through this and i wasnt there for her. i did feel bad at the fact that he died but in a way (God forgive me) i felt relieved. well all of us go through really horrible days that it seems like they cant get any worse and they actually do. so i just want to say i'm sorry for how ur day has been...tomorrow will be a brighter day i'm sure. hang in there and keep staying strong. *HUGS*

Date: 11/11/2001 6:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 39887    Oh yes, I am thinking as I read this, my gosh is she my double? Honey I think all women have lots of days like this. When we marry, what they fail to put on paper should be a felony? Who in the heck started all this crap that it is our place to take care of EVERYONE and EVERYTHING! We get asked if we take this person for better or worse, why the heck don't they explain what the worse is? I have been married for so long and raised four kids and I can relate to you perfectly. Well I am getting tired of being the maid, I didn't sign a contract to that!!! I am on strike this very moment from the kitchen. No one helps clean up after a meal so I don't cook! I am going to make a contract of my own, tired of listening...yeah I believe we all have days like this but mama forgot to tell us EVERYTHING!! BUSYBEE
Date: 11/11/2001 6:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 39887    PS. Hope things are looking up now! BUSYBEE
Date: 11/11/2001 6:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 30401    yea, i hate days like those...when i have a 'hectic day' like that... i take a nice, hot..long bubble bath. It always makes me feel better. Well since today IS the next day...i hope it's a better one!:-) Love,
Date: 11/11/2001 7:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 13297    I often have days like that - mainly because I haven't learned yet to say NO. As far as your friend goes, she needs to learn to help herself. Sounds like she made her bed and now that's she's having to lay in it, doesn't like it so much. It's funny how those things all seem to happen at once. Hope tomorrow brings less worries. cheers,
