SYNOPSIS: In January 1997, college freshman Bryan Nisenfeld started his second semester studying architecture at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Bryan was quiet and had few friends. He spent time reading or listening to music by the water's edge under the Mt. Hope Bridge. The architecture program was tough and he was terribly homesick. On January 31st, 1997, Bryan received a threatening phone call from a former Roger Williams University student. He supposedly told Bryan,"I'm going to get you, and I can get on campus." Bryan was shaken, and called his father, Steve Nisenfeld at 12:30 a.m. and asked him to come to the University. His father told Bryan to call campus security. Campus security was called, and they advised Bryan to change his phone number. One week later, on February 6, 1997, Bryan finished his literature class and was never seen again. According to Bryan's father, the university did not notify him that his son was missing until February 12. Bryan's mother, Marianne Brown, received a mysterious phone call. The female caller said, "Something has happened to your son." She said she was "associated with the school" and that an administrator and two faculty members were withholding information about the case. Seconds later, the phone went dead.
Six months later, on Labor Day weekend, a woman and her daughter were walking on Hog Island Beach - just a few miles from the University. She found a boot with a foot inside. DNA tests determined the foot - and a shinbone found close by - were those of Bryan Nisenfeld. Authorities found no other remains - but could only conclude that Bryan was dead. The Nisenfeld family believes that Bryan was a victim of foul play. After investigating the evidence, police believe Bryan's death was a suicide, or an accident.
