Distance never really worried me,
Until the day I met you.
Now every mile just seems that little bit further away.
There are oceans between us.
How I wish right now,
We could bridge the gap.
When times are tough,
Like I know they are now.
I just wish I could be there for you.
To do something to comfort you,
To give you a hug.
And promise everything will be OK.
My heart aches that I can't be there for you,
As you have been here for me.
All I can do is put words on my screen,
And hope to god, you know how much you mean to me.
I try to make you smile,
Even in the hard times.
But I don't know what else I can do.
Except say 'I love you, my dear sweet friend'
I'll be here for you come what may.
Because the one thing distance can't do,
Is keep friend apart.
