...Christmas Shopping at Wal-Mart

...Christmas! Isn't it your favourite time of the year? The hustle and bustle of the last few weeks before the big day, making sure everything's just right and then enjoying the peace of mind you get when you know that you're all ready?

Well, I never see that time of year. I'm always out on the last shopping day before Christmas doing my thing and getting irritable.

ENTER: WAL-MART

I needed some new strings of tree lights this year because I was tired of fussing with the stupid mini-light sets and I needed an excuse to get out of the house.

My destination...Wal-Mart.

I really love going to this store on weekends and the holiday season makes shopping there even more of a pleasure. I managed to practice my shopping skills yesterday, getting the cart up to warp speed and turning corners on two wheels. Don't get me wrong, I'm always most deferring to seniors, people in wheelchairs and mothers with young children.

THE PROBLEM

Have you ever noticed how people in this store seem to resemble a herd of cattle? They just stand around in the middle of aisles grazing on cheap junk.

I just can't help myself at these moments. I get behind them and MOOOOOOO. It's a pretty effective way of getting them to wake up (believe me, I've tried saying "excuse me", to little avail).

Anyone else have a favourite Christmas shopping story?

My apologies to anyone that has ever been MOOOOED at in a Wal-Mart store in Oakville, Ont.

Date: 12/23/2001 4:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 39887    I love Wal-mart too.In fact my husband says that should have been my grandsons first word! Ok, I give everyone a chance to mooooo-ve out of my way by being nice and saying excuse me please. Just today, I was caught behind someone that just ignored everything I said, so I just started putting two or three items in their shopping cart in mine and I turned to leave, they snatch it back and take off, whola!! it worked, they're gone. It is especially effective if you act retarded, they will not come close to you again! BUSYBEE
Date: 12/23/2001 4:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 39887    And oh yes they do have livestock at Wal-mart, I have not only seen cows, I see pigs, weasels, snakes in the grass, and even a monkey now and then! The one thing I have not seen is that darn little yellow ball sweeping the store and lowering prices on that junk! Have you seen it yet? BUSYBEE
