WE DO NOT LIVE IN IGLOOS!(and other myths about Canadians)

Tonight I was in a chat room that I visit alot when some one asked "So, where are you from?" I told them that I was from B.C. they asked what state that was in and I told them that B.C is a province in Canada. He was totally amazed "Wow! Your a Canadian?!? But, how do you have a computer in a igloo?". I almost died laughing. Then I had to explain to this guy that Canadians live in houses, that it's not -50 all the time (it reachs about -40 up North in the winter)and that we are exactly like Americans in almost every way.

The thing is that alot of people assume alot f things about Canada, and so I've decided to post a little Q&A thing here for peoplew ho have questions about Canadians and how we live etc.. So, if you have a question, no matter how stupid you think it is, just ask. And I'll be willing to answer all the questions.

How it changed my life:

It hasn't really, but it could change yours :) You might learn something

Date: 12/9/2001 9:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...do Polar bears really eat 1,300 to 1,500 Canadians annually? I think that I read this in National Geographic at some time.

Date: 12/9/2001 9:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...another question. My friends in Detroit tell me that if you go ten miles north of the border, you reach impenetrable forest. Are they serious?
Date: 12/9/2001 9:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 43498    i heard that u canadians aren't even a real country, and u have no army.....true???
Date: 12/9/2001 10:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 11528    I have a question that a lot of people have problably wondered about. What exactly is Canadian Bacon. Here in Canada we just have bacon, yet we often hear Americans refering to Canadian Bacon. Clue them in would You. Thanks. Bye for now. Enki
Date: 12/9/2001 10:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301    ...^^^I'm pretty sure that I heard that Canada doesn't have an army too. I also heard that they don't need one because they have scientifically bred polar bears, beavers and moose to be deadly attack animals. These animals also have the ability to evade all locating devices. From what I see on the television, the only place in Canada where they have a lot of real buildings is in Tronto. There are other buildings across Canada too, those places where they play their hockey. Otherwise, mostly wilderness and swampland.
Date: 12/9/2001 10:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 11528    The reason nobody in thier right mind would invade Canada is that the mosquitos and black flies drive away the invaders annually. Bye for now. Enki
Date: 12/9/2001 10:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 13546    We have an army of snowmen! :p didn't you know that? OMG!!! Heckler.. how in the world did you know that? It was our little secret.. *hits head* I have a building in my city.. its not too big.. but its warm.. lol ah! this is fun.

Date: 12/10/2001 10:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 27121    LMAO!!! hehehe. I know! I get that a lot whenever I tell people I'm Canadian :P
Date: 12/10/2001 2:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 14314    I know what you mean, I´m from Mexico, and a lot of people have a wrong image of how we are and look like. Like you said, we are also like U.S., we are nothing like they show us in movies. We have blond people here, not just darked-skined people, and tecnology (sp?)and lots of other stuff. It´s funny the way some people think about other countries. Take Care GOD BLESS and Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!!! BYE:):):):):)
Date: 12/10/2001 7:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19875    hehe, we ARE a real country, and we do have an army. Not a lot of one, but a little one :) And people rarely get eaten by polar bears :) It's mainly in the Hudson Bay area that anything like ever happens.
