Please don't blast me on this one..it is just something I feel needs to be said, at least it is very heavy on me right now. I just read a post by a young person that no longer feels wanted on USM and it brought tears to my eyes. I am the first to realize that we cant all know each other on a personal level, but we can all be conscience of how and what we say to each other and rememeber that we are all real people with real feelings and when I see someone hurt on here and by other people here, it is truly sad.
USM is and should be a delightful place to be..where you can come and feel loved and welcomed and safe, most of all safe from all the other harsh realities of life. It was said that when you're new, you need to reach out for friendship...and that is true for the most part, but there are those that haven't mastered that skill and need a little love nudge. This should be a place where you can feel safe to share, without fear of judgement for who or what you are. Debate words..YES! Judge each other..NO! No, I don't live in a plastic bubble and I am very much aware of reality and that everyone here is a human and while being so, are proned to mistakes. But just please make a genuine effort to really think about what you say to someone before you say it...you don't know what impact you will have on the other person and their life.
Ok now I feel better, I just hopes some of it sinks in. There are MANY MANY MANY super, wonderful, kind, caring, giving, loving souls on this place we call USM, so please please be careful in what you say and how you respond to someone else...I guess the goldgen rule should always apply in every situation of life.
DO (SAY) UNTO OTHERS, WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE OTHERS DO (SAY) UNTO YOU!!
