MovieReview: "Vanilla Sky" ...(A+!)

title :"Vanilla Sky"

starring: Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Kurt Russell

genre: drama

Wow. Imagine Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, and a little Fellini, and you get Cameron Crowes' adaption of "Vanilla Sky", a brilliant breathtaking film, which should garner some Oscar nominations. Cruise plays David, a man who inherits his fathers' company and is unresponsible towards it, and is plagued with bad dreams. He is never in love, until he meets Sophie (Cruz), and the movie twists and turns flawlessly, and creates a philisophical and suspenseful mystery. Never mind the plot; Cruise should get nominated for this one, and Cruz and Diaz nominated for Supporting Actress. Cameron Crowe (who directed the great "Almost Famous") directs like I never thought possible, bringing forth a masterpiece. And the plot, oh my, is a dandy, awesome, insane, and smashing. A+

cool scenes: the end is brilliant

MPAA: R

Date: 12/24/2001 9:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    um, Hugo, Nicole Kidman was NOT in Vanilla Sky. Yeah, I know; that was just your sense of humor. *grin* Anyway, I saw the movie tonight and thought IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO WEIRD. I suppose it's cool for those who like these sort of STRANGE movies, that twist and turn, and ...and.... well, dang it, it was one WEIRD movie.
