"She" is so boring to listen to? Um I've actually heard a guy say "like" just about every other word before too. Yes, it's mostly girls but there are guys out there too that say that. I say anyways, I don't care... |

IcyFire you should care - this is the impression you leave people with. When you look for a job the impression you make is so important. You don't want to use the words "like" and "anyways". I promise you most likely won't get the job. If it is a habit you should try and break it. |

What a GREAT post!!! I know that that sort of "slang" gets on my nerves.. there is NOTHING wrong with trying to be correct in our words and the way we use them. I also detest the shorthand on the computer too... BEFORE=B4, too=2, YOU=U... Those things are aggravating to try to read!!! And so is.. ThIs FoRm Of TaLkInG, I dO nOt sEe tHe rEaSoNiNg bEhInD it.. it takes LONGER to do... Thanks for bringing this up my friend!!! |

Gail, I understand about the computer slang. Sometimes I have to stop and try and understand what is being said. It is confusing sometimes. |

Heh, I'm guilty of the "anyways" over here. Like is also a big one at school. And the ever-popular "um". In Speech class today, of all classes, some people couldn't ask the teacher something unless they started with "Ok,..." or "Um..." The teacher kept telling them to start again, and they couldn't seem to spit it out w/o these filler words! |
