most cities "require" you to have a business license to operate a business out of your home, but that's mainly so they can zap you with a tax (I forget what they call it around here... it's not much, but enough to make you say "Hey! I ain't paying that!" that applies to your equipment and stuff. My best advise is to keep good records... especially if it will be your only source of income. I'm assuming that it will be mostly a "cash" based operation, so you can do what you want (tax-wise), but remember there are laws out there And have a back-up plan... just in case it doesn't work out.  |
