you might have to go out with him.... he wants to be where you are. Instead of letting him out alone, try standing with him until he goes and lay the praise on heavily when he does. And when you catch him going IN the house... grab him in the middle of his job and carry him outside while telling him that outside is where we take care of this kind of business... he'll catch on eventually. Good Luck! |

Good luck sweety!..;~D |

How long have you been working with him ? If he is only 10 weeks, then it must not be that long. Some dog's take longer than others depending on how intelligent they are, but most dog's take weeks if not a month or two to finally get them fully trained. |

My dog is almost 2 years old now. After cleaning urine off of everything for weeks when he was a puppy we decided to "cage train". When you go to bed at night, put him in a little dog cage. As soon as you get up in the morning race him outside. Stay outside with him until you see him go. Wehn her does praise him, give him a treat (don't let him see the treat until he goes. Put him out immediately after he eats or drinks. What goes in must come out. Stand over him and praise him once again and again when he goes. Eventually he'll get the idea. Cage training works because dogs will not mess where they sleep. But, only cage him at night and when you are not home. It took me about a year before we could let our dog roam the house while we were not home. Good luck! And remember it will still be hard because there will be accidents but not as many. |

The cage training was reccommended to me by the pet store and the vet when we first got our dog. Also, a website with great deals on advantage (flea treatment) is at petmeds.com Even after shipping and handling it's still cheaper than buying it at the vet! Just out of curiousity, what kind of dog do you have? Mine is an American Eskimo Dog (Jake). |
