Do you have a Valentine's Day Horror Story?

They aren't all hearts and flowers, even when they should be. I was living with a man, in a fairly new relationship, on Valentine's day. It was the first time I was ever involved with a man on Feb. 14th and I was SO excited! That day I waited patiently for the florist. EVERY PERSON in my office got flowers. Including the men! Even the unmarried grandma got flowers from her kids. Me? NOTHING! At one point my boyfriend called and asked me how my day was...asked if I had any deliveries...nothing. By 5:00 I was convinced that he was the biggest heel that ever lived and had got my hopes up for nothing. I got home, NOTHING! He came home with NOTHING! At which point I broke down in tears. He couldn't figure it out because he HAD sent me flowers. Turns out the florist van broke down and they couldn't get all their stuff delivered. Now, accidents happen, but they didn't even CALL the intended recipients! What Horrible florists!

Doesn't seem like much now, but what an AWFUL day! LOL.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who had a Valentine's Day disaster and I'd like to hear some others! -Pumbaa

Date: 2/14/2002 8:38:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47539    Don't get my wrong ladies and gentlemen, I've had worse! (Especially with my first husband!) But my example was more a tragic comedy of errors! -P
Date: 2/14/2002 8:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 49384    Yes, I was supposed to be going to dinner with a friend (very close friend), my sister, and his brother. My sister and I were so excited, we even went out and bought a whole new outfit, shoes and everything. And through the whole day of school he never said anything to, then when I got home around 3:30, there was a message on my machine saying that they had moved to Virginia. It sucked!
Date: 2/14/2002 8:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 6358    I was dating this guy when I was 19, and he had told me that he had a work meeting to attend that morning, and then after that, he had a day planned for us, so I was excited! Time rolled by, pretty soon it was 7pm and no boyfriend. My parents came home from work and knew I was upset because it was supposed to be a special day for me, my first ever Valentine's Day. So I finally got up the nerve to try to find my "then" boyfriend and see what was going on. He totally forgot about me. He had drank all day with his buddies and was passed out at home. I went over to his house and into his room and he had taken the picture of me with the frame that I had given him, removed my picture, and put another girl's picture in MY FRAME! My picture was nowhere to be seen. I woke him up and dumped him on the spot. There were other problems in our relationship, but Valentine's Day was the last straw for me!
Date: 2/14/2002 9:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 277    When I was 17 I was dating a guy who was arrested on Valentines Day. He called me collect from jail. He was caught breaking in a house to steal a stereo and a vcr! He said he was stealing to sell the stuff and get me something really special! UGH! He was really special alright, he was actually trying to support his drug habits! It was a terrible Valenties Day for me! And I'm so happy I haven't seen that loser for years!
Date: 9/26/2008 4:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 42945    I don't need Valentine's Day to have special thoughts from my hubby, he is considerate any day of the week, month and year. A nice dinner for the both of us now is sufficient...
