Food Fun for the Kids! (practical jokes)

You're about to get a look here at how my warped mind works. Kids naturally love sweets so my inclination is to take that simple fact and use it against them. It's so easy and inexpensive to play some really great jokes on kids and what follows is just a few ideas. (Here's a tip: be sure to have a camera ready because I know that you're going to want to capture the looks of surprise and disgust on their faces. LOL..)

Add food coloring to lard or shortening. The color is up to you. Then use an ice cream scoop and make a realistic-looking ice cream cone. You may be getting the "cold shoulder" after pulling this one!

Poor prune juice into an empty cola can when the kid isn't looking and then put it in the refrigerator. When he askes for a drink, open the door and reach in. (Be sure that they are behind the door or elsewhere in the room so that they can't see your action.) Pop the top on an unopened can and leave it sitting there on the shelf. Take out the rigged can and give it to them. Get ready to split your sides laughing as they take a big sip!

Place some Danish Wedding cookies on a plate or saucer. Carefully carve a bar of white soap into the same shape and size of the cookies, wet it and then coat it with flour. Put this on the dish and walk over to where they are while eating a cookie yourself. When they ask you for one, hand them the fake!

Buy some inexpensive popsickle molds and coat the insides with cooking oil. You can find the wooden sticks in many craft departments. Fill one of the molds with melted candle wax, insert a stick and let it harden. When finished, carefully remove it from the mold and rinse it off with water. Place it in the freezer so that a coating of ice will cover it. It may actually take them a minute to realize that something is wrong!
