I stand corrected, I know the man existed according to history. Thanks, Paranoid. I was talking a "divine" Jesus. Sorry for the lack of clarity peeps.~*~Lievout~*~ |

And, Release Me, it's great to have faith that a chair will hold you, but what good will that faith be when it breaks underneath you? Wouldn't you much rather know before hand that it had a broken leg? That is where I am at right now, getting up from the fall...~*~Lievout~*~ |

You have made a good point, Lievout. How will you know truth when you encounter it? If you have not accepted some source as true, you have nothing to measure your success by. The God of the Bible claims to have revealed the truth you seek; Jesus already claimed to be "the truth"; Allah has already revealed His greatest truths in the Koran. It therefore seems unlikely that any of the signs you have requested will be given to you. If they are, and you tell others about your revelations, you will probably be accused of being delusional. Everyone must have a method of determining what is true and why it is true. If there is no foundation, every inference is unorganized and confusing. I appreciate your honesty. |

Well, you have me pegged properly. I do not even know what to claim as a source of Truth. My success can only be measured at the end when all questions will be answered. ~*~Lievout~*~ |

You seem to be in a dilemma. If you have no source of truth, how can you trust the validity of any answers you receive? How will you know if your questions are answered? |

Hmmmmm interesting point but i will tell you this i believe in him myself sometimes you just have to go with the feeling ya get when you are touched and it happens to most whether they act upon it is up to them. |

Alfrowi, I'm waiting to find that source. 20 yrs. I believed in God and Jesus...I went with "the feeling" and all I can say is that it did not stay with me despite my efforts. ~*~Lievout~*~ |

If one does not believe the bible is the word of God, then they will not agree with me, Lievout :) I was trying to keep the same thoughts on the same post, is all. I'll post my reply on boomboom's post HERE, after this one for ALL who may not have seen it. |

Well, Lievout ... if one would study a little ancient Roman history, they could learn that there WAS a man called Jesus who lived at that time in that place. (Israel) Whether or not He is the Christ is obviously debateable, NOT whether He actually lived. |

Hmmm...big question. I suppose it was the norm...lack of evidence, assiastance, whatever. Yet, not. Lemme put it this way; I was raised in a Xian home, w/ Xian values, blah, blah, blah. All through out my life I saw Xian people fall to temptation and sin. I kept on. I did not let the mistakes of others turn my sight from God. Everyday I prayed to be stronger. To have more faith, more virtue. Everyday I asked for forgiveness for my short comings, for my lack of dedication. Though to anyone, I was on the right path. I worked with youth, sang in the choir and solos, went on missions trips, witnessed, read the Bible, prayed. And prayed and prayed and prayed. I prayed I would die rather than ride this fence of lukewarm Christianity. Know what happened? Nothing...no growth, no strength, no death. After I was willing to die, I was given nothing. So, that is what did it for me. Call me bitter, call me angry...just don't call me Christian. There were other things of course...my myth class that opened my eyes a little. Then I started to research other religions...and beliefs. I guess my old faith just died out. After all that time with no sign of help from above, I pitched it. And I know all the cute phrases about God's timing and He is always there...but, well, not for me. Trust me, I wish I could explain more about it tonite, but I cannot seeing how tired I am. That's a good way to describe it...tired. I'm tired of it all and look forward to its end. ~*~Lievout~*~ |
