The swimming pool at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida is the largest in the continental U.S. It covers a half acre and holds 600,000 gallons of water.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has the most mini-golf courses per area in the U.S. At last count, there were 47 in a 60 mile radius.

Yuma, Arizona has the most sun of any locale in the U.S. - it averages sunny skies 332 days a year.

Why do some chefs wear tall white hats? Legend has it that royal cooks were once honored with cloth "crowns" that covered any loose locks. Over time, the hats became white (to show food stains) and taller (to better ventilate the head). Today this headwear remains a symbol of the master chef.

True or false? Put ice on a burn. FALSE! Ice reduces the blood flow, which can slow healing. Instead, run cool water on the burn for at least 10 minutes. Then look at the spot. If it's blistered or charred, go to the ER.

Sweat itself is odorless, only when combined with bacteria that are breaking down dead skin cells does it become smelly. Smelly sweat is called bromohidrosis. Sweat is composed of water, sodium chloride, potassium salts, urea, and lactic acid.

Date: 3/22/2002 10:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 25046    In regards to the ice on a burn...Another reason not to do that is, you can have a 3rd degree burn and frost bite on the same tissue.

Date: 3/22/2002 10:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    Here's another one for you. No matter how long you hold a golf ball under water, it won't drown! Bugs can see with their ears and hear with their nostrils! Spanish people often refer to nostrils as "those little holes that you breathe with." Spiders cough more than any other animal including humans! It's rare for a human to be able to hold a bowling ball in his hand like a marble! The Queen's throne is also a toilet and that's why her dresses have no backs to them! It takes a true gentleman to give back a lost item and a true scoundrel to keep it and add insult to injury by punching the person who lost it in the mouth! Silly bird, Trix are for kids!
