Actually Jesus was nailed through the wrists...Remember he was not to have any of his bones broken. The wrist back then was considered to be part of the hands |

The romans actually nailed their prisioners through their wrists and their ankles, not their hands and their feet. |

Also they had in those days what was called the Crude Seat...an area like a small platform where the Executed one could rest their feet upon...The people could last for days nailed on the cross...But Jesus died after only a couple of hours according to the bible |

I have personally seen his scars and they ARE in his hands and in his feet. The weight of the rest of his body would not pull his hands off. If someone is hanging over the side of a building with gravity pulling on them, their hands don't come off. Why don't you think about the absolute agony he had to endure to get his message across (which people continually disregard)? God Bless. |

Very interesting, and Deb, I'd also like to know what you meant. Have you experienced an angel dream, or experienced stigmata? Or has someone close to you experienced it? I know it is possible for God to let some SEE what Jesus went through, and I'm very interested in talking about what you experienced. I'm a God Luvr. Love that God!!! Love and BIG MONKEY HUGS!!! |

If he was hanging from his hands or wrists only then the nails would have ripped through, because he would have just been hanging there. But since his feet were also nailed he could have hung up there for days...Lisa |

I meant exactly what I said. He presented himself to me. We had a conversation which included a few good laughs, including his offer to show me his side (which was funny as he referred to me as a "doubting Thomas" and I joked that I could hardly be that as I am a female). We are, in this post, discussing his death, yes? Well, it's not his death, necessarily, which we should be concentrating on, but rather HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD. Him, being resurrected, meant IN THE BODY. So, yes, as is God's power, his Saved Soul in it's Resurrected Body, is absolutely capable of showing his scars to whomever God feels is necessary to show. God Bless. |

in those days the custom was to nail through the swrist as it would support more weight. Someone told me the reason why he is portrayed as having the marks through his palms is to make him seem more magnificent. i dont know for sure though. DonkeysGirl |

well... as far as i know the nails were driven into the small bones in His hands. I would imagine tho, that he used his feet to kinda push up. Sounds like the logical thing to me. But whatever the Bible says is what I believe. We're not supposed to question it! FroggyBaby |
