Jack instinctively wanted to turn off every dirt road they passed in thier search, however restraining himself, knowing they could waste precious time by doing so. Once, they passed a sign bearing the script,''OPEN RANGE.'' Shortly thereafter they drove past a dirt road on the left. Something told Karl to request that Jack pull off at that point, but he didn't.
Laura kept glancing downwards as they slowly made their way back to camp.By this time they were both very cold and also very hungry. Holly had preplanned their meal for the second night by wrapping pork chops, diced potatoes and frozen carrots in heavy duty alumunin foil. All they would need to do is build a campfire and place the tv like dinner on the grill for a half hour. They could hardly wait.
Holly strolled on down the trail when Laura said she needed to stop and go pottie. As Laura was rearranging her clothes, she was able to see a portion of the top of Holly's 4WD below, peeking out from the dense forest. Suddenly she saw that flash of yellow she had seen before. She knew then that she had to catch up with Holly. Trotting as quickly as possible down the path, Laura was ready to forfiet her pride and take the chance of being made fun of. Something was wrong and Laura knew it. Absolutely and completely!
