Wiccans on USM. by Firstborn

Eight words the Witches Rede fulfill:

If it Harms none, Do what Thou Will!

"Harm" is defined as "physical or mental damage" and to this we can add "psychic damage" as well. To inflict harm on another is simply not a thing that a Witch would do.

We know that all that we do affects everything else in the Web of Life. We are very conscious of this responsibility. We are known as "The Craft of the Wise" because of our knowledge of energies and the natural and spiritual laws that govern the workings of the Universe. To work within these laws is wisdom, to work against them is chaos. Because we hold this knowledge, we know and are willing to accept responsibility for our actions and what will result from them.

NOW as you know I'm christian, but I have noticed that 99.9 percent of the wiccan witches on usm follow this code. Not very often do you see a true wiccan, intentionally harm any one with words or actions.

Debate: Do you agree with my opinion of the witches on here, or do you not.

AS SOME OF YOU ARE NOT GETTING MY POINT HERE, i'LL MAKE IT CLEAR. I THINK WE GET LESS TROUBLE OUT OF THE WICCANS THEN ANY OTHER GROUP ON THIS SITE. lol, ITS TRUE. JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT YA'LL THINK.

Date: 4/1/2002 9:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 17204    huh?
Date: 4/1/2002 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 50249    I don't understand what is your point.
Date: 4/1/2002 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    Yo FB, Well...I guess the debate is 'Are those Wiccan who harm TRULY Wiccan?'. The same as someone who claims Christianity, yet belittles and condemns is not (in my eyes) a true Christian. By their deeds so shall they be known...if someone claims to be Wiccan yet does not adhere to the 'Harm None' rule, then they (in my eyes) are not true Wiccan. Peace,
Date: 4/1/2002 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    I agree. But don't you think Firstborn that like a true Christian, there is margin for error, because no one is perfect. We are all learning to be what we profess to believe. Love ya,
Date: 4/1/2002 9:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 11348    Sounds good to me. Wiccans seem to generally be nice... I really don't know much about the religion itself though.
Date: 4/1/2002 9:14:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    tO ALL, I have put an update at the bottom of my post to make clear what I mean. Thanks all for stopping by.
Date: 4/1/2002 9:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 9130    They have learned if they mess with the Christians, they get banned :P
Date: 4/1/2002 9:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    Oh - Ya saying nice things about Wiccan now...oh...this debate is no fun...come on Firstborn...have a go at Wicca or something...liven it up:) Hehehe...ya know I'm just teasing right:) Happy Late Easter by the way. Peace and God Bless,
Date: 4/1/2002 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    Whoa...Dizzy threw in some sparks *Go Dizzy Go Dizzy*
Date: 4/1/2002 9:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    KK: I dont know lots about it myself.
dizzyme, I dont think that is the reason.
AgentSmith: LOL, happy easter to you. As soon as I
read your last comment, I thought OH OH, they are going to think I'm bashing wiccans, and I'm not. There are some very nice ones on here and I thought I would just give credit where credit was due.
Dang try to do a NICE post, and where does it get ya. LOL

Date: 4/1/2002 9:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 50249    Oh! OK! Well... Wiccans are ordinary people. Some of them are good hearted persons, and well mannered (or is it, educated?)
Date: 4/1/2002 9:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 15033    I think you are kissin up to someone Firstborn...LOL!!! I think all have things to learn about being better people with more love for one another here. Wiccans are just as likely to mess up as Christians.
Date: 4/1/2002 9:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 30743    I think it's just that Wiccans don't PUSH their religion so much as show by example. We Christians have the tendency to want to 'work' for God by helping others find Him, and it sometimes results in a lot of hair raising events. As a Christian myself, I walk a very fine line between wanting to do what God wants, and wanting to stay out of trouble... I gotta go now, so if ya didn't understand what I meant, I'll be back on later... Love and BIG MONKEY HUGS!!!
Date: 4/1/2002 9:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    *nods with Thunderhead* Yup...kissing up...definitely kissing up. Hehehe. Ya right...give credit where credit is due. Could it be that - shock horror - people are people and their beliefs are merely part of who they are???
Date: 4/1/2002 9:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 52320    Hmmmmmm........and I a good Witch? or a bad Witch? Well, I can be as abrasive as sandpaper, or as gentle as the winds breath. I guess that makes me human.BTW, I am a pretty good Witch, and I would like to believe a good person. Loyal, devoted, yep, good Witch, definately. Or, that could be a new topic of DEBATE!TygerGirl
Date: 4/1/2002 10:03:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    50249: Yep just like the rest of us.
Thunderhead. LOL LOL, ya think? Yes, they are as likely to mess up as much as we are, but they are more quiet about it. LOL Guess it wouldnt hurt to take lessons on this.
Monkeyluvr, Maybe thats it. They dont push or preach it or argue it, as we do, perhaps thats why christians get noticed more? I understand what you mean, I walk a fine line too, but seems like I'm always crossing over.
AGent SMITH: LOL Yes, shocking as that is> LOL, not really. I debate my religion, not so much debate but on here I answer all the questions on debate I should say. And yes, I post some stuff my self. But monkey luvr has a good point. They dont push theirs, or debate thiers, maybe that is why they seem so peacefull. Believe it or not, I DO LIKE people EVEN if they dont believe as I do and this does irk some christians, but ya know I figure during this life time, JUST because I may hate or dislike parts of their lives just as they do i'm sure mine, doesnt mean I can love the person for whom they are. AND FOR REALLLSSSSSSSSSS THIS IS A NICE POST. LOL

Date: 4/1/2002 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 19382    I agree with you Firstborn. Don't faint now lol ^_~.
Date: 4/1/2002 10:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 19382    And Dizzy Me has somewhat of a point here actually. I'm certainly worried about truely arguing my views/beleifs, as whenever I do seem to do it, it gets deleted.
Date: 4/1/2002 10:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    Ship Pagan: I didnt know that happened to you too, here I thought just the christians were getting deleted. So I guess we all are, perhaps, its not what were saying but the way were saying it and this is not just you, but me and many others as well. Oh, and I did faint. LOL, april fools.
Date: 4/1/2002 10:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 22080    psst its harm ye none, do as ye will because the harm you inflict comes back in a 3 folds
Date: 4/1/2002 10:21:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    thats the same Jestr as we christians, we DO not pray for bad to happen to some one as the wiccan law is three fold, the christian spiritual law, is you reap what you sow.
Date: 4/2/2002 7:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 41067    Aww, on behalf of the many Wiccans here Firstborn, I'd just like to say thankyou, this is a very nice post.
Date: 4/2/2002 9:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    Tandris, you are welcome.
Date: 4/2/2002 10:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 11428    FB, are you feeling Ok. LOL. I think this is definatly the nicest thing you have ever wrote. It brought tears to my eyes. Everyone here knows that there can be some heated discussions when you and religion are involved. But this post just proves to me what an increadable person and Christian you are. And this is why I will always truly respect you and Love you as a friend. *Hugs* Firstborn. Take Care,
Date: 4/2/2002 10:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 22080    oh im so sorry firstborn i misread your post i thought you were knocking on wiccans im so sorry
Date: 4/2/2002 11:02:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    Prophecy, LOL, yes I'm feeling ok. I got a tickle out of thunderhead and agent smith thinking I had a *ultertive* motive. LOL This is one of the reasons I posted this so that it would dispell the myth that we dislike others that dont believe as we do. I dont dislike others bacause they choose to not believe, thats between them and God. When I debate what I believe in, or telling what I believe the Lord has said, I dont mean it in a hurtfull manner, I dont mean it to have others think that I hate or dislike as that is the futherst thing from the truth. I may not agree and will debate to the tee as far as my beliefs go, but I just wanted those that dont believe as I do, to know that their is no,nada, none hate or dislike intended.
Jestr: thats ok. So did many. but I promised one of the wiccans a long time ago that I would not post hatefull posts about wiccans as it really hurt her feelings and I think I've been good to do this. Now I may answer some of the questions on other posts as to what I beleive God has said, but as far as posting? Nope, not going to do it, unless its in a kind manner.

Date: 4/2/2002 12:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 51553    If they would just get off that all paths are equal crapola, which of course is stating any religion which believes in only one path is wrong. Francis
Date: 4/2/2002 1:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 36803    Good post. :) I definitely think wiccans in general are more peaceful and less pushing of their religion, but that's just me. :P -avalonelle
Date: 4/2/2002 2:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 52320    silly Bluto, "all paths lead to god crapola", just might save YOU in the end. Sorry FB *SMILES* couldn't resist.....TygerGirl
Date: 4/2/2002 2:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 51553    I have just chosen to follow "the all paths are crapola" path. It is the path I have chosen. Francis Bluto Keyes
Date: 4/2/2002 4:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 39360    Hey, thanks FB, very nice post. Good to know some people tolerate us at any rate.
Date: 4/2/2002 7:07:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    OH francis, francis, francis, what am I going to do with you. LOL
avalonelle: ya that is true.
TygerGirl, Tolerance is a good thing.
Francis bluto keys, LOL LOL, your so funny.

Date: 4/2/2002 8:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 19685    all the wiccans on here i've talked to seem very pleasant.. however i do know a wiccan in real life and he's really bad like... well you know how some christians are.. they are very pushy and demanding about their beliefs being right and saying anything, even insulting, to put your beliefs down? well that's how this particular wiccan is... so i have mixed feelings???? but i'd say yeah they are just as nice as any other group of people.
Date: 4/2/2002 9:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 52710    u're right. wiccans harm none. weird that a christian says that... gªlen²
Date: 4/3/2002 6:14:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16671    Shattered, I know one or two that are not very nice either, but as you say, the same goes for christians or anyone.
Glen, why should that be weird?
