Well, it's pretty obvious that Jesus was breatfed, but it wasn't bacause it was for health reasons. It was for practical reasons. Mary didn't have a Walmart or Target to ride on her donkey to to purchase some baby formula. My sister breastfed her daughter while I formula fed my son. Her daughter was "always sick", you name it she had it. My son rarely got sick and the same with my daughter. The ad isn't pushing religion. It's just a new approach to advertising. |

Yes, Hawk. I agree, Maty couldn't even find a bed to give birth in, never mind a Wal-Mart! She would have been broke anyway till the Wise Men got there, 'cause Joseph had to pay all those taxes. But, I think the reason ppl were going wild, was it was Easter weekend, and the sight of Jesus nursing, was BLASPHMOUS to some. Not me, but others.TygerGirl. |

Well, the people who thought it was blasphemous were probably of an older generation. The older generation where breastfeeding in public was an absolute no no! And now to have Mary breastfeeding Jesus! *GASP* I think there's worse things they could show in advertisement...LOL! |

One trend I have been noticing in advertising is the use of guilt to persuade the viewer into accepting the message. In this case, the guilt trip sounds something like: "Breast feeding was good enough for Jesus. Are you trying to say you're better than Jesus? Do you HATE Jesus? Do you sacrifice virgins to Satan? No? Well then stop using baby formula!" Another thing I have noticed is that this technique is most commonly used by people advertising causes with no real facts to support them. |

definitely meant to be shocking. These people don't give a lick about the taste of their advertising. Another reason why I hate PETA. And they have every airhead actress and model from hollywood in their ranks. |

Yea, there is a lot of Hollywood support, they probably drive to support functions in their beautiful automobiles with LEATHER seats. Before they left their home they had a seat on their LEATHER sofa, and threw RAWHIDE bones to their dogs. They are all a bunch of HYPOCRITES! |

Yes, the message was "that breast milk was good enough for the infant Jesus & should be good enough for human babies". PETA's ultimate goal is to stop humans from drinking milk. They (PETA) believe drinking milk is unatural because it is "cross-spieces", which never happens in nature, and that humans do not need milk-induced calcium after infancy. I think PETA, based on the discussion with their UK leader, were deliberately trying to get the knee-jerk reaction they are famous for.FB- to answer your question, the billboard(s) were taken down by City Fathers in response to local Religious Groups protesting the religious imagry. |

to me that is taking it a little far. No one ever mentions babies that dont take to mother's milk and get very sick. I think mother's will make up thier own minds without having to look at pics like this! LOL |

I personally believe breast milk is best. Not every mother is able to breast feed, this is a personal choice. Why is using cows milk unethical to the cow? When will people realize that animals were put on this earth for us to use. Cows are not meant to be house pets. That's my view. |

Hi, MOM, glad you came. See my own point of view is I do not have a problem with using cows milk.I have a huge problem with cows trapped in steel cages, unable to move or turn around. With forced pregnancies, and hormone shots. And antibotic injections. I absolutly agree, that breast milk is the best for infants. However it is a personal choice for all women to make.I simply heard this debate on the radio, and thought it was a facinating story. |

BTW, I do buy "free-range" milk, or soy milk. It is expensive to buy "free-range", with no hormones, or antibotics added. But to know that there is nothing in my milk, but milk makes a difference. |
