my haunted house   Author: 52788  Category:(Hauntings) Created:(4/2/2002 9:40:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (523 times) me and my husband had wanted a house for years finnally after seven years we were in the position to buy one. it took me two months to find the house that i really wanted. i fell in love with it from the moment that i walked into the door. we had the house bought and was moving into it two weeks later. a month after we moved into we started to redo out kitchen. two days after we took the sheetrock down from the walls a smell came through my house around three in the mornong that woke everyone in my house up. it smelled like something dead. if you have cats and ever had one kill a rat and put it under your house without you knowing it you know this smell. that smell stayed in my house for 2 days with me and my husband crawling around on our hands and knees in the floor sniffing under the childrens bed anywhere that we thought they could have hid food or anything that could make such a stink but we found nothing and quit worrying about when it went away. but the next night i put my daughter to bed in her room and she woke up screaming and freezing cold in the middle of summer and we do not have a air conditioner. the smell came back that night. a couple nights later me and the kids were sitting in the house by our selves my son and daughter playing in their rooms me sitting in the living room reading a book when i heard footsteps walking in front of me across my hardwood floors with a shadow of a tall lanky figure on the opposite wall. needless to say i freaked out and left and didn't go back for a week. finnally i get my courage back up and we go home. my daughter fell asleep that night i layed her in her bed and was in the living room which is straight across from her bedroom. the light was off in her room but what ever walked across her room twords her bed was so dark that i could see it, the smell came, my daughter woke up screaming, and we yet again left. this time we stayed gone over a month. finnally getting my courage back up again we came back. i havent had another problem since before christmas. of course i haven't put my daughter back to sleep in her bed and the children won't even play in that room. so i do not know whether what ever is here just got used to us, or is just glad that we have left that room alone and has so chosen to leave us alone too.
