Mysterious things have always fascinated me. I've always wondered whether or not a talisman or handcrafted charm could bring good luck. Not so long ago, I made such a charm. I had a short period of good fortune, followed by misfortune as it would appear, or the good fortune turned out not to be good fortune at all. The charm I made had something to do with combination of "Rune" symbols. Well, I intend to whip up a batch of this potion with five flowers combined in a tincture. I guess it's my hobby to try things to see if they work or not. Well, I don't want to be a witch, I want to be a good person and a good Christian gentleman. But who is to say that there isn't a good, actual good charm of good design? This swastica thing for instance that the Nazi used as their flag, as their symbol. I have seen it again recently but it was as I was exploreing some information on the web about Sai Baba. It seemed to be on some temple, a Hindu temple I believe, in a circle, and it also seemed to be on some small table inside a diamond shape. Now I heard long ago of this symbol origianlly being a good luck symbol used by people far older than this Nazi party of WWII. I think I'd rather have my usual old bad luck than to make a talisman or charm that might possibly offend someone. I think I'll stick with my "Rune" charm and hope for the best rather than make a charm, even if it might work, that would make one who saw it think of some terrible thing that happened in history. Maybe I will dream up or otherwise draw up a symbol all my own, just for me. My opal ring though beautiful for sure doesn't seem to be bringing me luck, I was born in October and the legend goes that if it's your birthstone it's lucky for you but for all others not born in October, unlucky. Well, copper is supposed to be lucky for Librans. So I guess I'll make a charm, talisman or whatever the word may be, from copper. I do have some. And maybe there is something to be said for making your own luck and your own way in the world. Maybe the old saying is true, "Life is what you make it." How it changed my life:It hasn't yet, but if I ever make or otherwise come by a thing that seems to bring with it a period of good luck, I'll grin from ear to ear for a week or two...
