This happened in Thorburn,Nova Scotia, Canada in 1990. Thorburn is just a cluster of homes, even too small to be called a village. Like most small old communities, it has a large church and graveyard very close by. I have 2 friends named Perry and Judy that lived in a house between the church and the graveyard. I was out to visit one night and Perry and I decided to play with the Ouja board he had, and because of the house location were sure that we would have a hoot. Judy on the other hand was mortified, she wanted nothing to do with what we were doing, so we did it without her. We played for hours with the Ouja asking it many questions and getting many answers, but the board would every so often ask for Judy to try. At first she would not, but Perry and I were able to wear her down and she reluctantly agreed to try. I can still see what happened and I remember exactly what she said...She stood up from where she was seated, looked up to the ceiling and said "God, if I am committing any kind of sin, give me a sign". The last word was just out of her mouth and the VERY LOUD waterpump in the basement kicked in. The pump ONLY came on when someone was running water in the house and we all were in the diningroom. Judy let out a scream that still gives me chills 12 years later!! Judy was hysterical, and Perry and I were beyond spooked. Perry and Judy left the house immediately not packing a thing, not even shutting off the lights. They never spent night there and moved out the next day.........TRUE STORY How it changed my life:I didn't go out to visit them as much....would you?
